Popped in as staying at a nearby holiday park. Staff were super friendly and were a great laugh. We ordered quite a mix and everything was great, including the Steak & Ale pie that one of the staff had prepared herself for the specials menu. I'm not local so not sure if I can get back before I go home, but if you get the chance visit this great pub.
Based on 3 separate visits, twice just for drinks, once for food. Garden is great and views fantastic. Be warned, not lit up at night so day light visit only. Staff very friendly and you get the impression it's a good mix between locals and tourists. Food was very good. Only negative was waiting time for deserts. Book in advance advised.
Lovely cosy local pub. The staff were very friendly. There was a very long wait for our food on the first visit, but it was definitely worth the wait! We had the best vegan fish and chips we’ve ever had! It was so good we had to go back before we left Cornwall. The food came very quickly the second time. It might be a good idea to book a table if you want to eat as it’s not a huge pub and it’s usually pretty busy!
Great food, fantastic location sitting in the garden watching the sun go down with St Michael's Mount in clear view. Food Al very fresh with good choice on the menu, staff very friendly.
I am giving this little gem 5 stars mainly for the simply wonderful and helpful staff. I have been a type 1 diabetic for many years. Eating out, therefore is often a real challenge. And in all those years, I have never been offered such help. Good food, great views and amazing staff. Thanks.
A lovely place to sit and look out on st Michael's Mount with a cold beverage. Food is very nice and very well priced. Staff are always enthusiastic and happy to chat to everyone. They cater for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans which is good. Only thing is they seem slightly understaffed. All the times we went in there the girls working are running around non stop and even the chef brought some food out on occasions. If in the Marazion area again will definitely pop back in P.S Grab a rattler whilst your there
Nice pub with great views of sea and St Michael's Mount. Serves food. Car park. Few steps to navigate while carrying drinks but great place to go
Decent hot food with a stunning view! Would recommend to at least grab a pint! Avoid the fish & chips & just go for the burger… thumbs up!
We were looking forward to lunch after reading some of the reviews, my wife ordered Goats Cheese Linguini which was tasteless and saturated in olive oil and the Seafood Chowder was spot the fish as I honestly could not find any fish, just large chunks of potato, carrots and onions……..didn’t even taste of fish. The only plus point was stunning views. Absolutely gutted as we been looking forward to a meal here.
Lovely welcoming, friendly pub just behind Marazion's Beach over looking St Michael's Mount! Very cozy inside, it was a windy day as it was Xmas but it has a beautiful outside seating area also overlooking the beach, sea & the ancient cobbled tidal path that leads to the outstanding St Michael's Mount which u can only Cross wen the tides out & as walking across there's black rocks u can climb & take photos, All overlooked from the Quaint Fire Engine Inn After asking 1st they kindly Let us bring our dogs in Mom's 2 little Chalkies & my Big softie Staffie & they got lots of fuss from customers & bar person, especially Stella my Staffie as Mom's little dogs - Clyde & Mitzi get a bit shy around Strangers & go 2 their Mommy #NotSpoiledAtAll Stella loves fuss, tickles & she loves a chat if u hav or know a Staffie Ur know what I mean! She is usually ignored or stereo-typed owing to her breed, but wrongly so as she's so loving, affectionate & after Bar lady asked if she was friendly & was it ok 2 stroke/fuss her & myself replying with "Oh Yes she's VERY friendly, if u start fussing her, she wont let u stop & want 2 thank u wiv kisses & a chat!" Stella was soon rolling on her back asking 4 tummy tickles & givin kisses & sitting against ladies legs so she can't go! Lol As Stella's human Mommy, I want to thank that bar lady of The Fire Engine Inn - on Higher Fore St - Marazion- Penzance as she may not of realised but that means so much 2 me & I'm sure 2 Stella when she's just looked at as her a happy, friendly dog in that moment loving positive attention as she's judged as her breed so I know I've gone off Topic slightly but it's testament to the fire engine that we went in for refreshments after a long, walk along the beach across to the mount in quite a windy day & we were warmly welcomed, met friendly locals, felt very relaxed with our dogs & had great customer service, drinks, views & left refreshed, happy, positive & uplifted all from a decision to go for a drink. Highly recommended by, Myself, Mom, Step Dad, Mom's 2 Chalkie dogs Clyde & Mitzi And my very greatful, happy Staffie furbaby Stella
