Lovely small little pub we booked to eat more than once when staying in a close by village for a week. The staff were more than welcoming and friendly, it was our dogs birthday and one of the staff members actually gifted him a can of 'proper dog' beer which was very kind.nThey had just rolled out a new menu and it was busy so on the first night we were explained there was a 20+ minute wait on food before we ordered which was absolutely fine for us, some of the other customers weren't so understanding and a little rude to staff who dealt with the moans and criticism very well.nThe food was fabulous, portion sizes were absolutely brilliant, all home cooked and with care and attention. Between us and the 3 times we ate, I think we tried most starters and mains on the menu. Never once were we disappointed, from ham, egg and chips to lamb shanks or mussels the meals were all sublime and fairly priced.nnOnly reason for knocking down a star is really the inside eating area is so small and not all that comfy or personal...nOur chairs were basically touching the chairs of those behind us and it made it difficult for staff to get through or even just being careful when getting up from the table yourself not to crash with the person behind you.nUnfortunately due to the small area I don't know what could be done.nWith this in mind definitely book, if you're wanting an inside table.nWe went in winter and the rain so this was essential, there is an outside beer garden area where I'm sure more could sit in finer and warmer weather.nnDefinitely recommend and thanks for a great experience
We were lucky to find this lovely pub with the most friendly staff who were able to sit us even though we hadn’t booked a table in the midst of a busy evening. We had to wait for some time before the table was ready and the food didn’t disappoint. The best squid I had in ages, great nachos and mains. The atmosphere was fantastic and we will remember this place as one of the highlights of our family visit to lovely Marazion.
We are staying in Marazion for a few days & travelling around.nThis was our first port of call for an evening meal & it did not disappoint, we booked a table for 7pm as its only a small pub & wanted a table saved glad we did as it was full.nWe just had drinks and mains as not too hungry. I had the large Mussles in garlic wine sauce & my wife had the short rib burger & fries....both dishes were very tasty & went down well. The local Korev lager is nice too....will be back.
Enjoyed our first evening here on Saturday and even though we only went in for drinks we ended up staying for a fantastic meal of fish and chips, calamari, bread and oils and olives with haloumi fries too.nStaff were very friendly, extremely courteous and efficient.nA good mixture of locals and visitors makes for a great atmosphere, but guys - be aware that you will have to nip outside to find the gents and it’s a bit treacherous when it’s raining.nHighly recommend.
We had a walk through marazion and stopped in the kings head, my wife and I had a Sunday lunch which was very nice and my granddaughter had pasta from the children's menu which she enjoyed. All the staff were very friendly, there is a nice cozy atmosphere inside and also dogs are welcome, and of course there was beer, a nice pint or 2 of proper job went down nicely. When we're back this way again we'll be sure to stop by.
