I needed a place to eat on a wet Monday evening near our hotel . Checked on Google and due to the good reviews picked The Dolphin Tavern.nWe were not disappointed, even though the pub was busy ,the friendly staff soon had us a table and quickly brought us some drinks while we decided what to eat.nAll the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very nice so choosing was difficult. Our choices soon came and did not disappoint .nGreat place with nice staff and lovely food I would definitely go again.
While travelling around southern England we booked a 3 day start at the Dolphin Tavern, it's turned out to be the best stay we have had, the food, the service and the room have all exceeded our expectations. All the staff have been very helpful and the food has been excellent.
We called in with the intention of buying a drink and a sandwich but when we saw fresh skate on the menu we immediately changed our mind. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient. One important factor in visiting restaurants is the toilets, these were clean and had HOT water for hand washing, not something you see very often. We will definitely be visiting again.
Had a 40th birthday get together at the pub. It was a large group but the pub and staff were excellent. Drinks orders and food delivered with no delay despite the size of the group. Friendly, accommodating of all requests, excellent meals. A great pub in a fantastic location even on a stormy day.
Got to be the best seafood I've had in a very long time...beautifully cooked tender Squid starter and the softest beautiful Scallops with samphire and Chorizo for main course... so many choices for the vegan in our group which made her one happy lady ....cannot praise this place enough !!!!
