We stayed here as part of a walking journey. It was really fabulous. I would describe it as British hospitality at its best. All of the staff were so personable and kind and helpful. The food was excellent and even the coffee at breakfast which can be variable in pubs sometimes. The room was really clean and well laid out with everything we needed for our stay and we were lucky enough to have a view of the sea and the comings and gojngs in the street below. Really loved it here and recommend it highly
We've been here a few times for food. Most recently we had absolutely amazing fish and chips - the fish was perfectly cooked, very tasty and meaty lasagne, and delicious cocktails. There is also a wide range of veggie options and useful identification of allergies. The staff are very friendly with excellent service. No doubt we will go here again.
We had a couple of drinks one evening and went back a couple of days later for lunch with friends, which was delicious. Cod and chips, Whitebait, Lasagne all reported as excellent and for me probably one of the best Rump Steaks I've had. Cooked to perfection and beautifully tender. Also the staff. We felt welcomed and looked after. Great pub, and eatery in a lovely location. Highly recommend.
During a recent two-day stay in the Penzance area we dined at The Dolphin Tavern, Quay Street, Penzance.nWhilst the food was very much 'pub style', it was nevertheless of a very high standard. Freshly cooked to order, the portions were generous, exceptionally tasty and severed piping hot.nAdditionally the staff were attentive to our needs, pleasant and very professional.nThank you so much, you really made our evening.nHighly recommended
Stopped there on a sunny day with friends for drinks. We decided to have lunch as well. Absolutely disappointed from the taste. We got two burgers a Monterey Jack and a hunters chicken one. Tasteless, potatoes looked like plastic and had no taste. Our friend got the grilled fish of the day and this was the worst, the portion was ridiculously small and the taste was not the best as well. Location was ok but wouldn’t recommend.
