I arrived here late on Sunday night about 23:30, and received a very warm welcome from a member of staff who showed me to my room , which was a nice surprise, small but plush, very nice decor. From Monday night to Thursday night I ate at the restaurant, and I have to say I've had an amazing experience. I've met quite a few of the staff, and it's safe to say they've all been fantastic. Very friendly, up for a good chat and able to recommend some great options on the menu. They're attentive and always make sure you have what you need. The food has been exemplary. Unfortunately I've got no photos to share because I've dug into it before I realized haha. But you can trust me in saying that you will not be disappointed. I've had a range of both seafood and.....land food I guess? Basically steaks and pie haha. All of it was fantastic, and I managed to catch their festive menu too which was a nice touch. I'd like to thank all the staff for an amazing stay, and if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be paying a visit. I'd recommend if you're nearby and you're looking to impress a date/partner, you're definitely looking at the right place!
The food was absolutely fabulous. The kitchen deserves a pat on the back as we’ve never had a bad meal here. Service is bang on. Lovely place to eat, a real treat. Highly recommended.
Had a very enjoyable weekend at the Fenwick. Food was fantastic, great steaks and tasty breakfasts. Such a lovely setting and very peaceful, with the added benefit of a cosy country pub and traditional log fires. Staff were great and so friendly, can’t wait to go back.Rooms: 5/5
Just visited for a Sunday lunch and a couple of drinks on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Absolutely loved it, my pork loin was perfectly cooked and my partners veg roast was also excellent. Best part about the visit was the service, shown to our table by a blonde younger woman who I didn't catch the name of, but served by Peter & Noni who again, were both attentive and really friendly. £4.50 for a single Lauphraig too which is decent, seen it served locally for £5-6.
Meals Ok but seemed to be following a formula. Only one Vegan option did not seem to be able to be creative with other ingredients available on menu. The chicken dish good but sausage needed a steak knife to be able to cut it very tough.
Lovely place with great food only reason I have given four stars on the rooms. Is because I didn't like the slippery decking outside. But that's personal to me. Great hotel for price. Food & drinks: Lovely food. Great choice.
The rooms are like an add on to the pub. The pub and staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, but the walls and windows are paper thin and the road noise as well as dog barking in the room below lead to a poor night's sleep. I had asked for a quiet room and was told that the room I was in is a quiet one. The breakfast was not included in the room, which is odd as our company always books b and b. But adding it on was simple enough and breakfast was lovely. I had to stay here as a bit of a last resort, and for that it was adequate. Food is very pricey here £16 for their specials dessert!!
I stayed here a few months back whilst visiting the lake District on a roadtrip. A very pleasant stay with a large car park, friendly staff, lovely food and an amazing room & shower. Would definitely stay here again.
Just back from an over night stay with Dinner & Breakfast. Very happy customers! The food was fantastic we had scollops, gnocchi, steak, fish & chips and 2 full breakfast and all was amazing!! The restaurant was laid back with and elegant feel. Open fires and well placed lighting made a cozy atmosphere and an attentive team who couldn’t do more. Room had an amazing shower and was clean with all the usual amenities you would need inc hairdryer, tea/coffee with a large carpark. If I was local to the area I would make this place a regular haunt for breakfast. A great stay and we will stay again. Thank you.
Shockingly over priced with basic food. Had to repeatedly ask for drinks after ordering to be served. 2 pints of Peroni £12.60 2 GLASSES of Prosecco £15.20 Oysters good. Ordered Burger and chips, Goan Prawn curry. Bill was £113.47, they even had to temerity to charge me £10.32 service charge which I mistakenly overlooked at the time Would not recommend and will not be dining their again. We dine out often and more than happy to pay for good quality food upwards of £500 for Mitchell Star for 2 What I don't appreciate is leaving a restaurant feeling like I've been f@uk and not even having a sore ar$e to show for it.
