Great experience, lovely Victorian hotelnBeautiful views from the bar, beach just across the roadnPet friendly, staff was great to our pug.nBreakfast was good, very tasty scrambled eggs.nPool area not so appealing, didn’t take photos as there were other guests… pool smelled too much of bleach. Sauna was good though.
A classic hotel. Recently taken over by local people who will shower it with love. The former owners let it slide. But even though there is much work in progress the hospitality is brilliant, food excellent and the overall care second to none. The focus is all about those using the hotel or its other facilities enjoying the atmosphere.
Attended the Falmouth hotel a week before Christmas for a festive lunch. This was our first visit for many years after a previous disappointing experience. We had noticed in passing we are local that refurbishment work had been undertaken and hoped that the food had improved too. Our turkey main course was very underwhelming with everything on the plate except the turkey parcel poor. It had been a long time since we ate frozen sprouts which were a difficult chew. The deserts were ok, my Christmas pudding good but small. The venue itself was still nice and the staff were excellent. Overall a very disappointing experience for my partners special occasion treat. Will we return? only if friends report a vast improvement in the food department.
Recently visited the Falmouth hotel to make use of their leisure facilities. The pool and sauna were fantastic, very clean and just generally a positive experience. Prices were also very affordable and good value for the amount of time and access to facilities. Lily at reception was particularly helpful and polite, and her brilliant customer service really made the experience for us. Will definitely visit again.
The hotel is on the seafront, in the middle of a beautiful and well-kept garden, a 1-minute walk from the railway station. The city centre is a 15-minute walk away.nThe hotel is in an imposing but old building needing urgent restoration. The deterioration is evident in the doors and windows. Certainly, it has been a luxurious hotel in the past, but it is very run-down and poorly maintained.nThe room was spacious, with a splendid view of the sea. However, the furniture in the room is old, not antique, and needs restoration. The floor is carpeted, including part of the bathroom next to the bathtub.nThe same was true of the large bar, with various sofas that looked like they had come from a second-hand furniture sale.nThe cleaning service was a bit sloppy. On one occasion, even a packet of disinfectant detergent was left forgotten in the washbasin.nThe same goes for the breakfast service, where the choice is limited, and there is little or no replenishment. During our four-day stay, sometimes there were cold cuts, sometimes not, and the same happened with the fruit salad.nIn short, it's simply not worth the money. The price is exaggerated for the level of service and the quality of the interior space, both in the rooms and communal areas.
