My wife is writing this. She really enjoyed her meal. We had both decided never to have fish & chips again, after too many far too greasy meals. This however, was cooked beautifully & not at all greasy. Although the Eton Mess dessert was not what we thought of as Eton Mess, the chocolate tart & sticky toffee pudding were delicious. Booked at short notice. Staff very pleasant, attentive & well trained. Overall a delightful evening :)

We booked online and arrived at the hotel to find major building works were happening, which were not advertised prior to booking. As soon as we expressed our concerns to the reception staff they changed our allocated room to one away from the potential building noise. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the rooms and facilities were very good. We enjoyed our stay despite the ongoing works and wouldn't hesitate to come back again in the future once the build was complete.

I booked a “large sea view room with terrace”, the room was small and the terrace a balcony. This immediately put out backs up and asked to be moved, which we were. The spa is brand new but so busy and the jacuzzi is in the pool so the same temp as pool. Food looks lush but our evening meal was pretty average in taste. Three suggestions, rooms need full length mirrors, the security light in room is far too bright and kept us awake and the description of the size of the rooms should be changed. Staff and cleanliness made up for the bad points( we own a cleaning company so notice these things!)

I stayed in one of the cheaper rooms which lived up to expectations - a small dark basement room (with no windows except high up in the wall). It was clean though. Dinner at the restaurant was expensive for what it was, but breakfast was good. I was looking forward to trying the pool etc. but it looked too small and crowded to bother with. The hotel is in a good situation near the beach and coastal walks, also about 15-20 minutes walk from the town. Mess ups between my room and that of the person I was travelling with really soured the stay for me. They automatically discounted half the deposit I had paid on my personal credit card from my travelling companion's bill, leaving me out of pocket by quite a lot (particularly annoying as they had a better room with a window for the same price as I was meant to pay!). This wasn't evident until I saw my credit card statement a month later as the receipt I was given at check-out didn't include it.

Fabulous food in the Flying Fish restaurant. Pool and gym are first class. Great for exploring West Cornwall as a base. I know its generally a mild climate in Cornwall but we arrived in 2 to 4 degrees (there was a frost in the ground along the coast path) and the lounge/restaurant was cold. Reception area was also cold. Otherwise would get 5*
