A fantastic feat of engineering, and a great day out for the family.nnWe paid £54 family of 4 for the experience of the rotation and a little boat trip. While I wouldn't go again, it was a lovely day and everyone enjoyed it. You can also watch for free so it's well worth a visit.nnThere's lots of other things to do here, mini golf, kids splash park, play park and more. The cafe is great plus there's a chip van as well.nnOverall with plenty to do, great scenery and the incredible rotating boat lift it's an amazing family day out.
This is a nice piece of engineering technology at its finest. Mind you, if you want to watch it in action it will change at numerous times I was lucky to see it happened when I arrived. There are many activities nearby other than riding a boat on the wheel as you can do numerous things for adults and kids so you won't be bored easily.
Very cool piece if machinery here. Built in the early 2000s, this was built to save 11 locks, which is a lot of time. Very cool to see this up close. Brings in a lot of tourists from around the world. Free car park nearby with plenty of spaces available. There is also an information center here which includes a small restaurant, toilets and tourists tickets to go on a small boat in order to go on the wheel.
Great place to visit.nDog friendly boat trip up the wheel and back. Cost £35 for two adults. The boat was quite noisy, and as said on their website, is not suitable for sensitive dogs, however our two loved it! Tour staff were brilliant and engaging. Highly recommend.
Visiting the Falkirk Wheel was an unforgettable experience! The engineering marvel of this rotating boat lift is truly impressive, and seeing it in action was both educational and awe-inspiring. The surroundings are beautifully maintained, with picturesque views that add to the charm of the visit.nnThe guided tour was informative, offering fascinating insights into the history and mechanics of the wheel. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. There were also plenty of interactive exhibits and activities, making it a fun outing for all ages. I highly recommend visiting the Falkirk Wheel if you’re in the area—it’s a unique and captivating attraction that shouldn’t be missed!
