Lovely stay, gorgeous buildings and surroundings. Food expensive, as to be expected at this kind of place, but very good ingredients, perfectly cooked and presented. Good size room with wonderful views. WiFi in room not great, neither was shower, but there was a good bath. Plus, great showers in spa/pool building as an alternative! Good that you can use facilities there for free even after checkout. If main restaurant prices look off-putting, the 'bar food' is fantastic and good value, sandwiches, pub food, etc. Worth a visit for a romantic relaxing weekend in the countryside!

Beautiful grounds and house, although inside  needs refurbishing and doesn't do it justice. The staff are absolutely fabulous, as is the food and the spa. The chef is creative and, for me, accommodated all my food allergies whilst producing delicious and tasty meals for which I genuinely thank him. The spa is great and the facial with the head, neck and shoulder massage transports you to another world. Lots of stairs so maybe ask for a lower floor room if you have mobility problems. The bed was perfect, the room and it's contents tired. Bathroom and shower great. Signal poor for mobile phones. A stay made memorable by the staffs attention and food.

Great experience, the staff was very helpful and friendly. In the restaurant, they can be a bit more aware of certain details but even the "simple" food is delicious! Great experience with the spa, I will try to go back!

We went to the Elms for afternoon tea for a baby shower. The venue is gorgeous and the facilities are what you would expect from a hotel of this Cali bee. The selection of sandwiches was fantastic and the scones delicious. However, overall service was slow with delays in bringing the tea (we had to ask for this to be brought to us as almost finished the food) and no staff came to see us at any point for drinks order or explain to us where the bar was...

Great stay and the Manager Mark really made us feel at home. Relaxing time in the pool and spa was had as well
