To preface, I came here through the NHS, so I have nothing to say about fees or billing.nnI had shoulder surgery at this hospital in March, and the care has been fantastic every step of the way. For the surgery, I was given a nice room with my own en suite, and everything was thoroughly explained to me before I went under. After I woke up, I was taken immediately from a ward back to my room to recover.nnThe food was actually really nice. I had a hunter's chicken panini, ice cream, and a pot of tea. Much better than the usual fare.nnAftercare-wise, I had numerous physiotherapy sessions at the hospital to make sure I was okay and progressing. It's been three months, and they're happy with my progress, so I'm not scheduled to go back. However, they're not fully discharging me for another three months in case I end up needing to make an appointment, which is very positive—they're not just trying to get rid of me.nnNot that I want to have surgery again, but if I had to, I'd be more than happy to have it here again.
From start to finish every member of staff I came across at the hospital was happy and extremely caring. I was a particularly anxious patient to say the least and they were all very reassuring and they all listened to my concerns.nI’d like to say a special ‘thank you’ to Sam G / Karen / the anaesthetist who reassured me and a lovely lady who worked with him and comforted me whilst having my first general anaesthetic and of course a big ‘thank you’ to Dr Patel who carried out my operation. You are all a credit to the hospital and you all made my experience a positive one. Thank you!
This is the second time I’ve had this operation in 5yrs at the hospital.nnThe staff are incredible as are the facilities. They go above and beyond to make you feel at ease and welcome. Food selection is great for after op and they keep you well informed all the way though the day. Can’t recommend highly enough. And I can’t thank the team enough for all their support and efforts.
I have today returned home from a total hip replacement under the excellent care of Mr Craig. Every member of staff that I came into contact with, was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble with close attention to detail. Reena, my physio, was so caring and encouraging. I would not hesitate to recommend the hospital.
My husband was recently a day patient at The Droitwich Spa Hospital for hernia repair surgery and following some post-surgical complications we had to return a week later for additional care. As returning patients we are used to the exceptionally high standard of care and once again we were so impressed. From the hospital reception staff, cleaning and catering teams, pre-operative assessment staff to all the nurses, consultants, doctors and theatre personnel, each and every one of you are a credit to your profession and wonderful ambassadors for the hospital. The efficiency, attention to detail and outstanding care are consistently of an exceptionally high standard and as returning patients this gives us confidence and reassurance. We would not hesitate to recommend The Droitwich Spa Hospital to anyone looking for this standard of provision.
