An incredibly stylish room with a lot of decor details that create a cozy atmosphere. We were delighted from the first moment we entered the room. Very clean and tidy and has everything you need like shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, even hand cream. Amazing bathroom.
They have such a choice of gins I will have to keep going back. The bar staff were really friendly and helpful and recommended a mixer to go with my gin. Really took care in making a great drink and chose the perfect garnish. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor is boutique style gin joint. As a gin lover I will visit this place again and again.
Excellent ambient feel about this social meeting place - a great warmth in the lounges layout being small but cosy! Staff friendly and knowledgeable in the drinks sphere! Just didn't have any diet soft drinks as I am a diabetic and also the driver for the night. Don't get me wrong the establishment have plenty of really tasty soft drinks but a touch too high in sugar content. Still really enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend it!!
The Gin Lounge is an interesting space with a great selection of gins and mixers as you'd hope from the name. There's a 20s theme throughout which is both a pro and a con - the space is certainly charming, but some of the decor is pretty odd and more form than function. Our table wasn't particularly comfortable, and the music choice was some pretty tacky and annoying retro-fusion swinghop beats. Some actual 20s music would possibly have been better or just some classic cocktail bar jazz. The bartenders were friendly and offered good suggestions for our tastes, we especially enjoyed a gin and tonic infused with basil and olives. They didn't seem quite as professional or experienced as in some places, but they mixed a very good drink and served us quickly. It's a fun spot for a couple of drinks but I wouldn't want to stay longer unless they can make the space more comfortable.
Just stumbled across this amazing little place on a weekend away. Thoroughly enjoyed the the herby spiced gin that was the suggestion of the very friendly proprietor after she'd asked about my specific taste. There are amazing gins on offer, 163 to be precise. Could not fault this place. What a find. We will be back.
It is absolutely clear that this bar was made for a love of gin, from the moment you enter you are greeted by knowledgeable and passionate staff who are keen to help you find the perfect drink for you or challenge you with something new. Over 25's only cutting out a market of younger and heavier drinkers the environment is quiet apart from the slightly jarring music which definitely embeds as a slightly unpleasant ear worm. The 20's decor is ecleptic and interesting but doesn't quite hit it's potential. It is obvious that the focus is on comfort whilst you enjoy a brilliant selection of gins.
Stayed here Friday night, lovely rooms very quirky nice change from chain type hotels. Also you must try the gin lounge which is part of it. Never seen such a gin selection. The only reason this a 4* review and not a 5 is the noise from a bar across the road called The Yard. I appreciate the owners Rachel and Lindsay can do nothing about their neighbor's and it must be infuriating. So if you fancy staying somewhere a bit different please give The Edwardian Suites a try.
A brilliant cosy atmospheric hidden gem with the most welcoming owner. The selection of Gins and locally brewed beers means there's something for everyone,. We loved it's quirkiness and will definitely be coming back
Staff very nice . Bar was very welcoming! But !! When it was time for bed !! Well ruck sack out mountain boots on ! Ropes the lot. stairs to top floor just dangerous if you been on gins all night.Room cold no shower Would go again but not to stayRooms: 1/5
What can I say; fantastic drinks and brilliant gin recommendations Such a lovely place to be and relaxing/homely atmosphere. Love this place! Make sure you take time to visit!
