This is not a place I would recommend or return to. We wanted some food after visiting Bolton abbey locally and was told about another pub in Addingham called the fleece, but thought we would try this one as my partner saw it offered pies and that was what he fancied for his lunch. We went in and asked if they was serving food to which the guy behind the bar answered yes. We ordered our drinks and went into a side room which had no one in to sit and wait for our food. The menu consists of mainly pies and then also a few extra bits like baguettes or Yorkshire puddings. When the food came out it was ok although I had to ask for the extras that I had asked for on the pie. What made the visit a 1* however was the attitude of the lady that was behind the bar. My little boy 2 years old fell off a stool he was sat on and because it shocked him and he banged his head. He's ok - thanks for asking he started to cry. At this point the lady from the bar popped her head round and said "can you keep it down - this is a pub" now I could understand this line if we was in a library but not a pub that had about 4 other people in it. The other reviews that state the staff are friendly and the pub has a good atmosphere must have gone on a day that this lady wasn't here.
Great atmosphere friendly staff also featured on the tour de France and more recently tour de yorkshire. Nice quiet village setting. Excellent pie and mash menu. Watch out for the ducks.
If you like old fashion style pubs and friendly service without any frills this is the place for you. We all enjoyed our meal and surroundings, with no loud music.
Free house with good range of cask beers. Large outdoor area and they have regular music events.
Friendliest pub in the village. Great pies and as a bonus they've usually got Wharfedale Blonde on the bar
This pub has been closed for several months and as far as I am aware there is no proposed re-opening date at present.
Great pies, gluten free pies too ,very tasty, nice ambience and people.
A great pub . friendly staff and great service plus pies to die for
Great live JAZZ, old school pub, very nice staff.
Lovely food, great beer garden out front
