We attended a lovely dinner dance and spur of the moment decided to stay over. The evening was great, helpful staff, nice food and snart surroundings. In hindsight we should have gone home at that point. While the reception staff were very helpful in finding a room apparently it was one of several they “rarely sell.” It was clear why. Poorly presented, worn out fittings and (despite the Best Westerns standard mattress topper, which “no one has ever complained about” not a minutes sleep in the postage stamp size bed. Severe back pain the following morning. The reception staff seemed unable to engage in any level of customer feedback when I approached them so I didn’t bother to mention the huge dead wasp glued to the net curtain, the filthy window covered in bird droppings, the cloth headboard splashed with some suspicious looking white 🤢, the thick dust on the carpet edges or broken lamp shade. The breakfast my husband had was nice, I was just too tired and pained to make it down for this though. This hotel does functions really well but needs to deliver on it’s accommodation too.

Attended a charity event held at the hotel. Included a three course dinner one of which was tea/coffee. Not a course in my opinion. Drinks were very expensive. Hotel generally felt a little out dated and in need of modernising. Staff were very polite and accommodating though.

The staff were all very pleasant and our room was comfortable. Although it looks like alot is being done or trying too. The cleaning is not up to standard and quite dirty in alot of places. Our food was okay but our second ploughmans last night was thrown together and not up to scatch. We won't be going again.

Staff excellent. Continental breakfast not as stated on menu. Full English very good. Rooms NEED attention.

I attended the Christmas with Santa experience on Saturday all I can say is you should be ashamed of yourselves what a sham. No party games for the kids. Unable to hear music as the only bit of entertainment was a snow globe bouncy thing which was that loud you couldn't hear anything. And the best thing Santa what a joke I expected Jeremy Beadle to jump out. A skinny young lad probably a member of the kitchen staff just walked straight in spoke to no one through a selection box at a few kids and walked back out. You have ruined my little girls belief in Santa so thank you . A warning to everyone this is the worse Christmas event for kids I have every been to and a refund should be issued to everyone that attended along with an apology.
