A really great example of an independent pub firing on all cylinders. This place is constantly evolving to meet the needs of its many customers Steve and his team deliver hospitality really well. The premises are always being upgraded from the old run down pub it used to be years ago and a great regular live music offering, always draws me back in. It’s a pub but somehow it’s just different from the rest. In the best kind of way. Amazing job guys n gals. Oh and that’s not even mentioning the incredible and highly regarded Chinese food on offer
The Duke. The best pub in Marlow. For good reason: a true welcome from the owner every time, brilliant proper pub surroundings and the best food going. They pour beer properly too and actually care about you being there. Viva the Duke!
Steve the landlord arranged the rear tent area to be reserved for my birthday celebration. A lovely spacious area for larger parties with a stage.The staff went above and beyond offering table service and they had decorated the area with balloons, lights and great music to give it a real party feel. For a “personalised” party contact Steve at the Duke. He really is the Host with the Most
I am a local and a regular at The Duke. I have been here long enough to know that it has had a troubled history for the last 20 years. Previous landlords have never really got on top of the potential that the pub and its garden offers...…until now!! Steve has done a brilliant job! During the last troubling, pandemic years he has created a haven of friendly hospitality that has become a centre of the community for many people. Offering flexible spaces throughout the pub where you can watch sport, eat good Chinese food and listen to live music. It is fair to say that everyone has a place to enjoy here. If I am being truthful, I am seriously in two minds whether to post this review. If I do, it could mean that more people will come, like it and then come more often. Not sure this is MY desired outcome! If I do post this review it would only be to give the well deserved kudos to Steve and the rest of the Duke Team. Keep up the good work, folks!
Food was delicious, staff were very friendly as was the atmosphere. The only negative was the lack of choice in no-added-sugar drinks. We will definitely return though :
A nice basic estate type pub, beer fine & an excellent Chinese evening menu with takeaway option. A large well kept garden.
Food was nice but menu that they have on the website is not reflective of the actual prices so when you arrive they just charge you more. Bit of a scam really. Can't see anywhere else where that would be acceptable. When we told them they just carried on asking for the higher price and ignored the comments we had made. Would not recommend
Brilliant place, excellent mixture of Chinese cuisine and a traditional pub atmosphere. Looking forward to making many more visits
If they like the cut of your jib, you may get free peanuts Good smoking area to rear. Happy to welcome tradesmen in their work clothes
Pub: Nice pub location away from the others, supporting North-East Marlow. Garden is well covered, drinks are good. Lacks pub food though. Chinese Food: Pub does do amazing Chinese food. Staff are great and it's very quick! Takeaway too.
