Nice Pub. In the countryside ideal for a pub lunch and walk around the forest. Inside dining get but outside is nice on a nice day with good sized pub garden. Plenty of parking nice beers. Nice food. A bit pricey perhaps but then justified as it is well prepared with friendly service and nice location.

Wanted to try this place for a long time and it has generally had good reviews from friends that have eaten there. However my lunchtime experience was disappointing. Started with soup. Had to wait a long time for it. It tasted nice but was luke warm at best. Waiter then tried to give us someone else's food. (Fair enough, it happens sometimes). I had a pulled pork baguette after the soup. It had been halved. One side had a part of bone in it, like the end of a rib, quite thick in size. Don't know how the chef didn't spot it when filling the baguette. The other side was full of fat where the meat hadn't been shredded properly. Again, surprised that this wasn't spotted as it was just one lump of inedible gunk. Did raise this with a waitress. Standard apologies given but nothing else. Will not be rushing back.

Too expensive for what you get. Unless you really want to spend far too much money on meat. I've had much better pub meals for less. Limited range. Meat was cooked well, but menu needs a re design.

Had a very odd tasting Chicken Ceasar Salad, with warm chicken on the bone, was ill for 2 days. My mum had a Sirloin steak but received rump steak it was ridiculously thick and raw on arrival. She asked for it to be cooked more, rude staff sent it back and it came back the same. It wasn't rare it was raw. I brought it home and cooked it for her. Way to expensive for raw meat and a jippy tummy.

This place does a great big and good value full English with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Lovely walking through St Leonards forest nearby. Spoiled only by nice but tiny and expensive coffee.
