I had a lovely meal here, and it wasn't just because I wasn't dining with my kids! It was far posher / up market than a lot of the places I have been to in past few months years?! The restaurant is just on the main road coggeshalll rd and there is a few car park spaces at front and more just round the back. On our visit it was dark and wet so didn't do much looking round outside and went straight in. On the night we was there it was quite busy, but having booked before hand we got seated without issue. They had a chap singing, he was pretty good - although it did make hearing conversation a tad difficult. Menu options are Italian, with mains including a few pasta / pizza options and a few other options as well. I had decided on a calamari starter which was good, but not the best I have had and then the pork belly as a main... which was very tasty! Dishes others in the group had ordered also looked good, although I would say that some of the dishes were a little on the smallish side. Only comment I would have on mine was that it could have came with some vegetables, but I still enjoyed it! Desert was an easy choice, I love some cheesecake and the one from Caesars came as a sort of deconstructed cheesecake. It was good! The whole night was good and we was there for just over 2 hours, not that it felt like it! Would recommend this restaurant for an evening out. Kid-friendliness: I went in the evening, didn't feel like the kind of place I would bring my children - and if I did I'm not sure they would appreciate it enough!
Experienced the tasting menu with the accompanying wine flight for a fantastic Friday evening. The menu was superb and portioned excellently, with a highlight being the fillet of beef and the cod. The staff were attentive and explained the dishes and drinks, helping to create a friendly atmosphere all evening. The food felt particularly good value for money, whilst the wine flight was slightly steeper, but good quality.
Food was absolutely amazing. Very well cooked and great flavours. A fantastic place for a romantic meal
A lovely restaurant with a nice selection of dishes to choose from. My steak was delicious. Great service in a nice cosy dining experience with a roaring fire. Parking: Parking on site
Three of us had a selection of starters tapas style in the garden....Fantastic & terrific value. Staff so attentive & lovely. Water bowl was brought across before we had ordered our drinks so excellent service for furry friends. Parking: Behind the pub.
After driving down from Southwold, I needed to get out of the car and have a break. This was the first pub I found which I could pull into. I wasn't wanting a full meal and I was a bit in driving mode but I asked if I could just have the apple pie dessert and a cup of tea. It was very accommodating of this request ! and allowed me to unwind and look out of the window when other diners were there for a full meal. It is clearly a liked place by retirees meeting for lunch. The tea was over-stewed when it arrived but the apple pie and plum sorbet was amazing and it was clear to me that the staff really knew how to cook and there was service with a big smile. I told the server how good the apple pie was and how I appreciated just being allowed to enjoy a dessert with a cup of tea on its own.
We were a large party who ate in the function room. The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious. We were there on a Sunday. I had the cauliflower steak roast and coconut mousse which were both very good. The car park round the back is the same level apart from a few small steps as the entrance and there is a disabled toilet. Hope to return.
The food is always to a consistently high standard. The menu stays seasonal, and they regularly have exciting specials options. Great value for money and superb service. Parking: Ample parking. Wheelchair accessibility: It's tight being an old building but it is wheelchair accessible, the staff are always willing to help. Dietary restrictions: They are happy to accommodate
Fell on this little place out of starvation one day. All I can say is incredible food and very reasonable with there prices. We have since returned a few times and every time the food has been equally great.
Excellent choice for Xmas Eve, we had the shared platter of cold meets artisan bread and olives. Great choice and added the artisan bread and marmite butter to the starters . We had 5 different min course all cooked to perfection, set out very well. I had the veggie Cauliflower stake that was nice and added aside of triple cooked crisps that were scrumptious. The carbonara had a sauce slighter thicker than when home made so stuck well the pasta . The paella was very tasty as well not oversalted as it can be . The child's Pizza was tasty as was the chicken dish. The ambiance was good with a roaring open fire . The service was good without being intrusive as some places can be. Best place locally for a good value excellent meal. Can see why it's award winning
