You can't complain when you're paying £11.99 for two main meals and £6.50 for a curry and a Guinness!! Desserts were huge! If you go for the Katchos, one between two would be enough!!

I have used this pub via work and personal for years always been the favourite great affordable food and service, however the last few visits have been awful. Food is limited and what is served is frozen food just heated up. Waiting times for the food is ridiculous and does not come out all together so we were all eating at different times. We noticed one chap not in uniform walking in and out of the kitchen regularly with all I can describe as in a foul mood, I just hope he was not the chef unless all hygiene regulations are out the window here. What happened to all the lovely staff? We won't be using the pub anymore!

Sat down ordered our drinks and food at 6:55 at 7:49 still no food ordered more drinks at 7:30 and they took nearly 10 minutes to arrive. All the staff served their friends first the only time staff spoke to us was when we ordered at the bar. Never even saw any of the waitresses as they were always chatting.

Ordered 2 full English with X toast and 2 cappuccinos at 11.30, at 12.03 I said 30 minutes to which the server said I'll go and see where your breakfast is. 9 minutes later she turned up with our breakfasts, as she was trying to explain the delay with something about the 3 button mushrooms my wife poked the beans with her finger and said these are STONE COLD. The server scurried off with both plates to return a couple of minutes later with warm beans and what we're now hard boiled eggs instead of fried. So 45 minutes for 2breakfasts is not good. Busy no only 5 or 6 tables. When I mentioned the what looked like hard boiled eggs and no grilled tomatoes at all she just scurried off again. Had breakfast hear before which was nice, but think we will go elsewhere next time.

Absolutely terrible. We had booked in advance but arrived to see customers leaving saying they were going to McDonalds instead. After sitting down and speaking to other tables, who had waited over an hour for starters, we decided to leave. Not a great first impression to see tables with dirty plates left, and other customers warning us to go else where. I work at a pub and was completely shocked by the level of service, and after seeing the other reviews, something massively needs to change at this venue.

Food not great..cheap and cheerful at best but we all left with full tummys. Decent staff who served us quickly. Clean and nice atmosphere.

We had booked in advance for a birthday meal. Arrived at 7:30pm and by 9:15 we were still waiting for our main course. The table next to us has been served cold starters along with main meals of fish that was partially cooked and a steak sizzler that was luke warm. After waiting nearly 2 hours we were told that the chef had gone home ill at 3pm and the person in the kitchen couldn't cope. Given that we had booked I would have expected a call to inform us that the kitchen was to be closed. In the end the table next to us failed to get all of their meals served together and having seen their raw food, especially the fish, when our food finally arrived I could not bring myself to even touch the chicken for fear of food poisoning. The supervisor came out to tell us that they could refund our meals but not the drinks because they are 'separate things' which is complete nonsense and was quite frankly patronising. We eventually got a full refund from another lady who was having to field all the flack. There was no manager on site. This is now the 3rd visit where we have had issues with the quality of the food and service and will not be returning. What a cracking birthday meal!

UPDATE: Since I sent this review I was asked by the owners to email them for more information and to see if they can do anything to improve. I have emailed them over a week ago and have had no reply. Clearly the response was an empty gesture to look good on Google reviews. I stand by my remark to AVOID this place at all cost! The management clearly don't want to put any real effort into this place and will run it into the ground. I feel sorry for the 3 people who work there. The service is poor at best which is not the fault of the people that work there, there just isn't enough staff to cover everything. They had one person taking all orders behind the bar at lunchtime on a Sunday, the queue was stretching to the door! Our meal took 2 hours to arrive and we had two children under 6 waiting for pizza and nuggets! Until they get more staff avoid this place like the plague.

Gave this place a second try. The first visit was soooo bad however, i will say things have improved. We had the full monty mixed grill and the mushroom and ale pie very confused by the wording on the menu for this one as its a pastry pie not a suet one recomend this is reviewed by management food was good quality and very tasty. The staff were attentive and reasonable turn around speed considering how busy they were. Would i recomend...yes if you are looking for a quick, cheap meal but for a event birthday etc etc i could find better places.
