I have popped into the Bull,Braintree for lunch on a couple of afternoons and the food is great. Good variety of traditional food with good portions. The fish and chips is the best I have every had and would recommend. I will return to try out other food on the menu once a week if I can. I’m not sure what it is like in the evening but would recommend you try the food.Also good variety of beers!
Friendly staff. Good menu for food. Reasonable price for food and drink. Smoking area out back. Only thing didn't like about that was you have to go up a steep step to get too tables.
I had a wonderful experience with the staff who were extremely helpful, and the food from Chelsea in the kitchen was delicious. The food service was exceptional, and the drinks were expertly prepared by a lovely person with excellent customer service skills
Disappointed kitchen shut early. Advertised as 9pm. Ordered fries and onion rings at 8:10 walked off without asking if we wanted any sauce or salt, went to order again at 8.35 and told kitchens shut.
Seven of us booked to have a Christmas meal, 6 of us opted for the turkey, one person ordered the festive sausages. But when served there was no festive sausages, and they had to have turkey. This was all preordered! Also two of us preordered the bakewell mince tart for dessert. We were instead given 5 mince pies even though there were 7 of us. Would not go back
I haven't been here for a while but was a good time and they have a hood selection a really nice ipa...if you catch this place when it's busy your in for a good time. Also this is a nice place to grab something to eat right in the heart of town.
For the centre of Braintree and pubs struggling the Bull doesn't do itself any favours. Lager flat 3 different brands when I complained I was told it was an issue with glasses??Sapphire gin tampered with tasted nothing like gin served in plastic glasses as they had run out of glasses at 9.30pm. Staff prefer cleaning to serving. Glad we didnt eat. Will not return.
Nice little place to visit. It was really quiet when we came. Its Greenking so you know what to expect. We ordered the sharer meal with two slides, chips, chicken etc. It was all lovely and the staff were friendly. The only downside for us was, we couldn't order off the app as theres no table numbers on the table, and I got charged slightly more at the bar than the app had said for the food and drinks, but we'll let that slide
Probably the best night life in Braintree but that's really not saying much. Drinks served 3/4 full, wobbly chairs/tables and the stickiest floor of all time. Door staff were friendly. At least entry is free and you don't get a pat down like at "the lounge" ...
Have been in a fair share of times in the last two week staff have always been lovely and helpful Food always great and good prices
