The food was absolutely delicious! Their nan had not only butter but also some coconut flakes and tasted amazing! Both curries prawn and lamb tasted so good. The lime rice was a bit too sour for me. They also had a good dessert menu with homemade ice creams. It took a while for the food to serve and I think it's worth it. Not cheap but definitely not expensive for the quality. Highly recommended.
Came here with my boyfriend for his birthday and had a lovely meal, the food was brilliant and the service was very attentive. They brought out a special birthday dessert for my boyfriend as well which was delicious and very nice of them, as they remembered it from my booking request without me needing to remind them at all. Thank you!Food: 5/5
First time visiting and it won't be my last. The food, service and atmosphere was first class. If you are looking for authentic Indian food then look no further, I would highly recommend giving the Cuman Restaurant a go. Vegetarian options: I for one am not vegetarian but if I was I would have plenty to choose from.
Great service and authentic food. Try the Rogan Josh and the Goan prawn curry. Service is very friendly too.Food: 5/5
Cumin is an absolute gem. The modern exterior leads to a classy interior with a small downstairs restaurant area and further seating upstairs. The welcome was wonderful and felt very inviting. The authentic menu offers something for everyone including an extensive vegetarian offering. I personally always judge an Indian restaurant by two dishes, their tikka starter and their chicken madras main. Both were excellent and in my personal opinion one of the best madras curries I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend if you find yourself looking for an amazing and value for money curry in Nottingham.
With so many choices of dining establishments I feel we picked the perfect Indian restaurant. We arrived to an empty restaurant that soon filled up with almost all tables occupied. Our food from the Lamb Chops & Onion Bhajhi starters to the Butter Chicken & Okra main courses were very tasty indeed! I certainly enjoyed the cuisine and will definitely be making a return visit next time I visit Nottingham.
We visited Cumin without a prior booking, expecting it to be quiet as it was midweek. The downstairs dining area was already full, with us taking the last table…a testament to how popular this place is. The food and service were first rate, with the staff eager to advise us about the dishes they served. We would definitely visit again if we are in Nottingham, thanks for looking after us so well.
I had chicken madras and it was amazing, lovely staff lovely atmosphere great price authentic cuisineFood: 5/5
We booked the restaurant for an anniversary dinner based on the many positive comments we had read, but admit that the feeling was one of disappointment. It was not only that the expectations had been set high, but we purposefully ordered a range of dishes, both starters and mains, and overall found the food more bland than most Indian restaurants at which we had eaten. We were greeted warmly, our reservation was found, the service was attentive throughout without being overbearing and the staff friendly. The poppadoms were crispy but the accompanying sauces were mostly bland. Stand-out winner was the spicy mango chutney, very tasty, but the mint sauce was among the most tasteless we had experienced. The starters were quite good, the paneer mushrooms well cooked and presented and a good portion, the squid rings well complemented by a spicy dip, which added the flavour. Salad was fresh in both starters. Mains we chose the prawn curry which was the stand-out dish for me, and once I had stirred the sauce and the prawns, the flavours came through. Pilau rice and plain naan, ordered separately, very nicely cooked and tasty. The chicken pea dish my wife ordered she thought was OK, but again mentioned it being bland, and the chutney that accompanied it, essential to add taste. Overall, we felt that there could have generally been more taste tobthe dishes, and less heat. Good portions and we could not eat it all and took a leftover bag home with us. When presented with the bill, the Fork discount was not included, we asked for it and a quick hand-worked calculation was made which did not correspond to the value of the discount, but was lower. We did not linger to query it, as a queue of people had formed behind us tp pay, and we felt it would be impolite to delay them further we ourselves had been waiting for a group of 6 or so men to each pay their share of their meal, a tedious and time-consuming process. Overall, many small things could be improved. Vegetarian options: Please type of vegetarian options
One of the best Indian meals I've had for a while. Had a yearning for a curry so popped in. Very friendly staff, great service and the presentation of the food was amazing. There was a lot of meat in my curry. If I had one comment, perhaps the food was slightly bland, although that might have been my choice as opposed to their cooking.
