Attended a wedding. It’s set in a lovely location with large stream running through the grounds. It’s surprisingly large once you step inside. Great facilities. Staff were very helpful. Room was really nice.

Picturesque location by the river, lovely large rooms some with beautiful views. Clean and comfortable. Really pretty courtyard area. Rural and peaceful location.

Wonderfully situated and pleasant management, however staff need some etiquette lessons. Each piece of cutlery placed on our table was handled by the knife edge or fork prongs. The food was disappointing in flavour with very poor presentation. My prawn cocktail starter was tasteless with a few frozen mini prawns and broken lettuce scattered in a bowl. How the Chief managed to dry out the chicken supreme is beyond wonder. Go here for the setting by all means, just don't bank on the food!

Lovely environment and good service but poor quality of food on the lunchtime menu. Ordered the "special", fish cakes with fries. I wasn't expecting to be bowled over but even so it was such a disappointment to be given something from a packet that resembled the quality of shop bought or local chippy fish cakes. Moreover the fries were ridiculously over salted. Call me old fashioned but I do prefer to add my own seasoning. Sadly.... even the peas were overcooked. What didn't help was the frosty attitude. I wasn't unpleasant towards the staff, just pointed out that there were some issues with my food. On this point alone, were criticism is not welcome, I won't be going back. This follows on from a previous experience were a member of the family ordered lasagne. However, they forgot to remove the plastic film fully before banging it in the microwave. Good job it was noticed before being eaten. Not exactly restaurant food. Such a shame. Sort your kitchen out! It's the only thing letting you down.
