We've given this restaurant many chances, as we only live a 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately, every time there has been an issue. Wrong food, no drinks and small portions to name a few. The most common issue is the really slow service. Today we were waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes. Doesn't sound terrible, but not one member of staff even acknowledged us. It made us feel unwelcome and gave us an indication for what the service would be like. In the end we gave up and walked over the road to McDonald's. Sorry guys, we honestly do like the restaurant and your food, but I don't think we'll be back.

I've never had a bad experience here. The staff work hard to make it a positive experience. I have only met with helpful and friendly service.

We thought we would give it another try after our last visit,really wish we hadn't bothered.Had booked our table for 5.15 quiet when we arrived but was ignored for about 10 mins to be seated , order taken waited about 30 mins for food to arrive, had almost eaten food when our side order was bought to our table bearing in mine we could see it sitting on the pass waiting to be collected it was cold and soaked in oil were it had been left waiting , couldn't eat it. Couldn't get anyone's attention to get bill ended up going to till point and stood around for someone to come. Almost £80.00 for 3 people for food that I could have cooked better and the service wasn't there.Such a shame .

I had a 1st time very good dining experience in this lovely looking large Restaurant, where i found the staff amazingly warm & friendly, plus the two food courses i had tasted great, that i couldn't wait to dine again next time i'm in this beautiful area. I had the prawn cocktail plus the haddock & chips with mushy peas, the batter was a little overcooked for my liking, but overall great value for money with a very relaxed atmosphere within the Restaurant. The fairly large car park is shared with the Premier Inn adjacent & is free for 3hrs for Restaurant diners. I have now had a 2nd dining experience in this Beefeater, and I can really see why it has such negative reviews in terms of both the service & the food quality, because firstly my server was far from friendly towards me, making me feel highly uncomfortable, very cold to say the least when she slammed down my glass of white wine (not chilled) & secondly, if I'd of cooked for a customer and plated what was given to me, I would of been ashamed to call myself a Chef & thrown it in the bin, totally inedible at £13 for a badly cooked main course of my usual Haddock & chips with mushy peas & tartare sauce (i don't trust ordering anything else), i was speechless as the batter was so overcooked that the fish had split open & tasted of pure grease after finally sawing through one end of it, shameful & disgraceful quality, plus as a further insult to my intelligence, after making a formal to complaint to their Guest Relations department & attaching a photo of the meal, i was basically told to shut up complaining as there is nothing wrong with the quality of this meal, nor their service, plus it is ok to be served warm white wine at £7 a glass, no gesture of good will as i should of apparently complained whilst i was there, i'm NOT a confrontational person plus i thought Professional Companies like constructive criticism to make improvements for complete customer satisfaction, i was wrong as i have the evidence of just how unfriendly they are & will be carefully considering using this Restaurant chain in the near future.
