A very lively pub. With friendly staff and great food. We went on Tuesday “carvery night “. The food was fresh and was constantly being topped up. There’s a choice of 3 meats and plenty of vegetables. A very enjoyable evening was had by all.

Cracking Sunday carvery, with a fine selection of three meats, all cooked to perfection. The meat just falls apart. Generous helpings of seasonal vegetables with gravy and a selection of condiments to compliment your meat. You won't be disappointed and all this at a great price. That's why it is packed out every Sunday.

Don't order the salad from the carvery on a Tuesday its £10.50 generous portion of beef but the salad itself was appalling a bit of Iceberg lettuce 2 slivers of tomato bit of red onion teaspoon of coleslaw & vinaigrette 4 small boiled potatoes & the hot beef had been laid across the cold salad. The presentation I can live with but for value for money it was not worth £10.50 at best I would only want to pay £5.95 as the cheese board was cheaper & that's more expensive to buy in!! we never usually have a bad meal here I have to say & the carvery is always good that's why we come to the crown.

I very much looked forward to my birthday lunch here. We have been many times before as the carvery is always lovely. Unfortunately on this occasion our visit was spoiled by Julie who was organising the bookings and tables. When a verbal complaint was made by one of our party she was observed by myself to be very patronising towards the complainant This is rudeness!!! It spoilt the whole experience for all of us. When a lovely member of staff tried to jolly things along and try to deal with things she again was openly heard by myself to chastise him for doing what she should have done. We will not be going again.
