Turned away early afternoon after a long walk due to having a baby with us. Of all the pubs we have walked to across the UK I have never been to one so inhospitable. Thoroughly disappointed. Fortunately the pub a few yards further up did not have the same ridiculous policy and we were able to rehydrate and continue our journey.

One of the very few remaining traditional English pubs. No TV, no music, no food just good beer and wine and a warm welcome. Nuff said.

What a fantastic locals pub. No background music other than the sound of conversation. Made very welcome by staff and customers. CAMRA (Mid-Chilterns?) pub of the year 2016.
