Fantastic community pub. I discovered the pub while waiting for an MOT at the garage beside it.
Walkers can call them in advance to book lunch 
Do ask behind the bar to borrow a Chiltern society map if you want to walk in the surrounding countryside.

What a smashing little pub!  We had just done a 5 mile walk, so came in thirsty and hungry.  The menu is basic pub staples, but the generous helpings arrived quickly, hot and well cooked, washed down with a well kept jug of Rebellion. Best of all was the cheerful, friendly service from the lads running it. Prices were reasonable too.
Shame we don't live nearer, but I've made a note to plan another walk from there to engineer a repeat visit.
