We moved out of Kenilworth 4 years ago but still return to The Royal Oak as and when ...
Had a lovely meal here, getting the lunch menu. The starters were lovely, and soup was very nice although maybe a little too rich. The mains were incredible, and the desserts were also great. Service was good but took some time, but the overall experience was great!
This is a really outstanding restaurant. One which I have visited several times. Food and service have both been exceptional on every visit. Even at 2.30pm on a Sunday when they were beginning to clean down the kitchen, food and service were immaculate. Have brought my infant baby along several times and we were always made to feel very comfortable. It's really worth a try, you will not be disappointed. For the experience and quality, I'd say it's good value.
The food was of very high quality, we had the à la carte rather than the tasting menu. The crab tart and tuna tataki were both very good as were the amuse-bouche. The Hereford beef was melt in mouth outstanding with incredible jus. The soufflé and pavlova were also recommendable.nnI didn’t think the service or decor were 1* standard, the part of the restaurant we were in could have been any pub in the country. The service was slow at times, and not particularly engaging.nnBut worth it for the food!
Really a beautiful restaurant. The cuisines and service are brilliant. I had a memorable birthday and i will never foget today. Wish The Cross all the best.
Absolutely sublime. We visited on a Thursday evening, so the atmosphere was very calm, the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive from the moment we walked in. The food was incredible, we had the crab tartlette, venison broth, monkfish and steak, followed by pavlova and a delicious hazelnut soufflé. Two very happy diners and would happily visit again one day.
