The Almanack

Average food and expensive for what it is. Not particularly clean either. They are dog friendly, so be warned, this means on a rainy day your meal will be accompanied by the delicious fragrance of wet dog.

I just had my 50th at the Almanack and what can I say one word Wow. The Almanack hosted all 25 of my family members in their separate dining area with such attention to detail and professionalism. From the amazing food and different varieties of beer,ale and wine on hand to the constant is everything ok or can we do anything else to make this night even better. Special thanks and praises have to go Nicola , Aina and Elle. You guys were just amazing, constantly on hand making the night amazing. Your establishment was packed you had two big parties in attendance and you still managed to stop and check if we were all having a good time. And guys thank you so much for letting us use your area outside after the meal which everyone appreciated. I have to just say one last point, You guys really know how to host a party without doubt and you really made my birthday night special.

My work hosted our Christmas lunch here. The room was separate from the rest of the restaurant and thoughtfully decorated with santa hats! The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere and establishment was great and stylish. The food was really tasty and we really enjoyed our time here.

Bit scruffy and worn. Food ok but expensive for what we had (£5.45 for a one poached egg on two tiny slices of toast, nice coffee and staff though.

Christmas meal for 9 business colleagues. Food was very tasty though rather small portions. Good drink selection. An enjoyable evening had by all.
