Nothing was great, very poor service I would expect better from I thought was a trusted brand. Staff couldn't find the table we had booked, when it was found we were not in restaurant as booked. Food then took nearly one hour to arrive. Poor quality when did, fish was like cardboard, pineapple not able to cut. I felt not able to send back to kitchen to recook because staff attitude not approachable. Online table service told not available because it was too busy.
HBH Family lunches. Visited for lunch several times during our stay in the area. On each occasion the pleasant staff were extremely helpful regarding food allergies. Several different eating areas and a large out door garden, appears to be fenced from the road. Recommended meals; Posh Fish n Chips; Scampi; Haddock n chips; Hunters Chicken Schnitzel. And the Vegan caramel cheesecake is scrumptious!
Fabulous place with lovely staff. I reserved an area of the pub for a family gathering for a birthday, with buffet for 20 people. The Gold Service buffet was lovely. The thing that really made it for us though was Sarah,running the bar, sorting the timings for the food and making sure everything was seamless. She was brilliant, an absolute credit.nWould absolutely recommend this place.
We had to wait about 25 minutes for our food to be served after ordering it at the bar. The portions of food were good and it was hot. Our position by the window was a little cold. Eventually the adjacent radiator was turned on. The waitress was friendly and returned to ask if the meal was alright - we confirmed it was fine. She also helped in providing drawing paper and pencils for our 4 year-old grand-daughter. None of the cask ales were available thus reducing our choice of beer drinks.
What an absolute disgrace.nWent there for a family birthdaynBooked the table for 14. Took 2 1/2 hrs to get the 1st meals out when the table opposite had there's before us.nThe birthday boy got his meal last, 3 hrs after booked and after everyone else had finished.nHi daughter we to inquires where his meal was and was falsely accused of swearing at the waiter, which she did not!!nSo after a rubbish meal that was very poor quality and outrageously poor service we ended up with one guest in tears and rest of us fuming.nIf I could have left a zero star review I would have.nComplaints have been sent to Ember Inns.nAbsolute rubbish.
