I recently stayed at the County Hotel in Carlisle and had a pleasant experience overall. For the price we paid, the room was quite satisfactory. It was clean and spacious, providing plenty of room to relax and settle in comfortably.nThe basic amenities were well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. While it wasn’t overly luxurious, the room met all our needs.nOverall, the County Hotel is a solid choice for a budget-friendly stay in Carlisle. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a straightforward, clean, and comfortable place to stay in the heart of the city
Gem of a hotel for what we paid. Absolutely great location, staff are all so friendly & helpful & the breakfast is very good.nSome parts are a bit dated but overall its very good x
1 night stay on a Thursday. Room was dated but was very big with high ceilings. Bed was like a king-size with 2 singles put together. We had a very comfortable sleep. Heating was on and the room was very warm. Standard TV Freeview and coffee making facilities... which we didn't use. Bathroom was also dated but clean. Some missing and broken tiles. Shower over the bath was nice and hot and powerful. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Great location for the centre of Carlisle and 2 wetherspoons on the same street. Plenty of takeaway and restaurants close by. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel. Overall we liked this hotel and we thought it was good value for money for our 1 night stay.
For the price £65 for a 3 bed room we were expecting so much worse. The location was ideal yes, there are pubs etc around so a bit noisy but not too bad, the interior was a lot nicer than we were expecting, the room was large, had a tv, tea and coffee facilities, even a bath! It was clean, comfortable and we had nothing to complain about!
Bedroom was basic but for the price ideal, lovely clean bedding, very comfy beds, floor very creaky, bathroom clean and tidy but could could do with been updated a touch,nBreakfast was OK good selection but not very hot beans very dried up, never ending ques for the toasting machine. Rather disappointed there was no Bar and having to go into town for a drink. But yes would stay again on a short stay.
