Me and my family booked an evening dinner at the smokehouse for myself , my partner and the 2 children, the lady at the bar welcomed us in and was really nice and super friendly . The food was delicious and she informed us everything from the menu was made fresh in the kitchen on the day, even the bread buns for the burgers. After a little bit of talking with the owner she told us they are always fully booked 60+ people for lunch and the same for the evening dinner which says it all really Would definitely visit again.
We went there following the good reviews and I have to say it was one of the nicest meals we have had in a long time. They are super dog friendly and the kids meals were well portioned and delicious. I had the bees and rib combo. The meat was very well smoked and the BBQ sauce was sweet and complementary. For starters I had a back pudding scorch egg which was absolutely fantastic. My wife had pan fried chicken that was delicious and garlicy. Will be going there later this week for lunch! Vegetarian options: They had a selection of vegetarian and vegan food on the menu. Kid-friendliness: We took our kids and they were friendly to them . Separate menu for kids that was well priced and good selection.
Have been here several times over the last year either with my wife or in groups. The food is always lovely, very generous on portions. Pricing is good no different to similar restaurants in the area but the quality of the food is superior. Staff are always welcoming, attentive but don’t pester. Always a good sign that regardless the day you go the restaurant is always busy
Terrific lunch enjoyed by our family following a boat trip on the Broads. I went for the chicken burger pictured - and left very full up! Great place, very friendly staff and service. Would love to visit again next time we’re in the area.
Dined in had starters pork belly and beans amazing , however wild mushrooms on toast was dripping in oil . Ordered Sunday roast, was disappointed not traditional Sunday roast: brisket, bacon and ham. Roast potatoes were dry, and Yorkshire puds not fresh. Good selection of veggies, however beans and leek old and tough.
What a superb BBQ diner at the heart of Lowestoft! The staff were very nice and friendly. We've had a fantastic meal at The Copper Smokehouse this evening. Initially, I was thinking to try the beef brisket when I first saw the menu. To my surprise, the staff has also introduced their special menu to us with different fish dishes, pork and venison on the menu. I wanted to try them all but decided to go for the venison and mushroom fricassee with spinach and egg spaetcles. The homemade pasta was made to perfection with tender venison pieces and a beautiful mushroom sauce - it really was special! The beef short ribs that my husband ordered was also very tasty! After dinner, we've had the pleasure of watching the gorgous sunset at Nicholas Everitt Park which is a couple of minutes walk from the restaurant.
Stumbled on this restaurant as I was visiting Lowestoft on business.. the building is on the start of a row of stores and offers an nice outside seating area too. I dined in the front section table for one of course.. the vibe was very family orientated which was lovely. Ordered the garlic butter chicken wings and for my main beef brisket and rib combo with fries. Now the wings were ok I’ve had better smoked wings before so i’d give them a 2/5. The main now mmmm I don’t know if I was afán of having my meat smothered in BBQ sauce it was not marinated into the meat but added as an after thought so it took away the taste of the smoked meat. The brisket wasn’t great and the ribs where way over cooked and it was like the sauce was hiding the burnt.. I think as a recommendation ask people if there want the BBQ sauce on the side. I’d say 1/5 for the meats, 3/5 for the fries and 3/5 for the slaw and 1/5 for the corn not good The staff where lovely and friendly. Maybe I went on a bad day but as a veteran meat eater I was disappointed.
Staff friendly. The food was delicious and very generous portion sizes. Dog friendly also. Would highly recommend.
Huge thanks to The Copper Smokehouse for hosting our party of 18 for my mothers surprise 70th birthday lunch. From start to finish, the process of reserving & communication was seamless, the food exceptional and the service was slick, yet super-friendly! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for a special occasion, you’ll be assured of a warm welcome! Special thanks to Paula, what a superstar!
A real little gem of a restaurant! Food is delicious and portions are plentiful. Service is friendly and efficient, your four legged friends are welcome too. Also great if you are coeliac/gluten intolerant. Cannot recommend highly enough
