Booked a couple of nights here for our first 'stay in a Spoons' adventure. Rooms are fine and well maintained. Lovely and warm. Pub itself is huge but cosy with two fires. Beverages, food and service all great. Perfect stay.nNo parking on site but only £5 for 24hrs nearby in the long stay.
A nice pub set in the town centre. It is surprisingly big, I visited around mid afternoon. There are plenty of tables and different kinds of seating which is a nice touch.nThe food was served promptly and tasted good.nFish n chips of course.nService all around was brilliant.
We stayed here for one night. Booking arrangements were very straightforward and as we arrived by car I appreciated being sent in advance the postcode for a nearby long stay car park. Overall, the location couldn’t be better.nnReception and checking in was problem free. The bedroom was in good condition, with complimentary drinks and biscuits. The one downside was that there was some mould in the bathroom but apart from that there were no other issues.nnThe hotel was well separated from the bar area. The bar itself was large and in excellent condition. Staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast was the standard Wetherspoons offering.
A nice, big pub with a lovely layout, cozy corners, and comfy chairs. Service was fast, but there were quite a few teenagers hanging out, buying a Coke, and using the Wi-Fi. The hotel rooms are spacious, with very comfortable beds and plenty of tea, coffee, and milk sachets. My only gripe was the lackluster reception staff, who were not at all welcoming!
Possibly the best Spoons I've visited and I've been to a few! beautiful historic building, huge inside with plenty of tables & seating. I was served by Callie who greeted me before i had even reached the bar, she was polite & helpful, I ordered the Tennessee chicken burger and wifey had a cheese burger. The food came out very quickly, good size portions and piping hot, very tasty. Soft drinks were good as well not the usual watered down stuff you sometimes get A great lunch for under £20, staff were always busy cleaning & clearing the tables. The manager here certainly runs a tight ship, will definitely be visiting again. A final bonus is the toilets are at ground level! I've spent more on so called gastro pub lunches, and ended up with worse food & service than a Spoons.
