Never been able to see a doctor in person since I’ve been registered here and only been able to speak with a GP once on the phone! I have been calling for months and months it’s actually put a huge strain on my physical and mental health, the doctor was told on the phone about a previous suicide attempt and he interrupted to say he had more pressing urgent matters to attend too, I told the other female doctor about my continuous back problems could be related to a serious inherited condition they are yet to send my referral from 6 months ago and she told me “80% of the population have a bad back” and left it there, absolutely by far the worse GP services I have ever experienced, I’ve cried and cried over the stress and anxiety of trying to get an appointment, I’ve stopped all meds because they keep giving me strong sedative anti psychotics instead of helping me
I have been refused a prescription for my painkillers due to staff shortages. I can understand how hard things are but i am in constant pain. This weekend will be a very painful one and already i am struggling. It just doesn't seem right to be left in such pain. I always feel i have to fight for my pain relief. I am in pain day and night. Its not that hard or time consuming to send a prescription to my pharmacy. Just so many people have told me of there experience with central surgery and just isn't right or caring. My 7 month old Granddaughter was refused to be seen and the doctor diagnosed a sore throat over the phone. My neighbour wasn't allowed to see a doctor about his ear pain and is now in hospital because it has become so bad. I had a letter from Glenfield to change my heart meds 2 weeks ago yet i haven't heard anything. I feel telling someone in pain that you can't give them their pain relief until the Monday is very uncaring. I get stressed requesting it and shouldn't have to feel this way and then coldly being turned away is so uncaring. So many people are saying how they have lost faith in Central Surgery. Very sad.
I’ve been a patient at Central Surgery since 2010 and I would like to share my experience: - No appointments - the reception staff will advise you to attend the surgery at 8am or alternatively telephone the surgery at 8am for an appointment on the same day, unfortunately this is not true. They will keep you on hold for 30-40 minutes for you to then be told there are no appointments available. If you call 111 - they can make an appointment for you at the surgery because the surgery cannot be bothered to do their job. Therefore, it’s wasting the NHS time and it is not time efficient. - Service - Once you manage to obtain an appointment, they will provide you with a locum doctor. On more than two occasions I have had rude and highly unprofessional doctors. It’s disturbing that they do not want to talk about your medical problem, they will just prescribe you with any sort of medication and in fact even misdiagnose you. It seems like they’re on a tight schedule because they just want to end the call. The staff who work at the surgery do not have any due diligence or care for their patients, they seem like they are just doing their job. - Referral letters - Hospital referral letters not being issued and therefore leading to delays for hospital appointments. - Advice on medical report - After receiving a blood test or any sort of testing - if there are no concerns they do not provide appointments to speak to a doctor, even if you try to request one, they tell you it isn’t urgent. I understand it is as urgent as other patients that day however they say this every morning I have tried to call, which means I will never be given an appointment? - Online portal - the online portal is always unavailable due to being understaffed. I don’t see the point in having an online portal if it’s never active? I don’t often require my GP’s service which is why I hadn’t picked up on how disastrously they operate. Thankfully I have now relocated to another city and therefore I have deregistered and so far the new surgery I am with have been very helpful which is why I write this review today to share my experience at Central Surgery.
This surgery as a whole is appalling! I can not stress how bad Central Surgery is. My father has been recently been diagnosed with cancer that has returned, the horrendous journey he has encountered at the surgery is appalling. The past couple of months has been a battle just to speak to a GP. .Constantly calling for the line to be busy , then to be cut off. .No Que system. .Never could get through on 'Ask my GP' system was always down. .Never to be seen by a Doctor, just a telephone consultation. .Constantly hear 'we are understaffed' .Told they would send him for a scan [still waiting] .Last week spoke to a GP for them to reply with "what would you like me to do" prescribed antibiotics for a water infection without even asking for a water sample to do a dip test. Considering my fathers previous history of cancer and him telling the different GPS about his Red Flag symptoms, they would fob him off with creams and different painkillers. This continued for weeks, then to be told if its that bad go to A.E.The next day he took himself to A.E. in chronic pain to be told the cancer has returned and it has spread.I'm SO ashamed of the GPs that they didn't take the time to refer him quicker. This surgery needs to be put in special measures or shut down sooner rather later for the safety of patients.
The way this surgery is managed is appalling. So much so that people will die in their care.I had to call this surgery five times in one week just to get my Nan’s medication. She is nearly 90 with a heart condition. Called them today and they wouldn’t pass a simple message to the pharmacist. The staff member put the phone down to me citing abuse. I didn’t even raise my voice. Reception staff are highly ineffective. I’ve reported them to the CQC today as the service is one of the worst I’ve seen. I’d like them to listen to the call. Please report to CQC if you receive a poor experience. This surgery needs to highlighted for the service it delivers.
Terrible experience and rude staff. New to the area so registered here in time for babies first appointments.. I was booked in for a 6 week check along with my newborn for his 6week check on 17th November. The day before I got a message to say the appts had been rescheduled for 1st December so he could get his 8 week jabs done at the same visit. Totally fine as I see the convenience. However on the day of our appt we get a message saying it’s been moved to the following day, 2nd December due to staff sickness, again totally fine as I woke in healthcare myself and understand these things happen. However I was in the area so went in, in person to clarify timings / see if any other times were available, there weren’t so we decided to stick with 12pm for both our checks and his vaccines. On the day of the appt we arrive and are seen by Dr Attwal for our checks, I found him to be very unprofessional and lacking adequate social skills. He didn’t introduce himself and was very tick box with his checks. I told him I was beginning to suffer with PPD and he told my husband to see how it goes and told me to just speak to my health visitor. I found this very very upsetting and I had been anticipating this visit due to my emotions the last few days and as the nhs website says to speak to your gp if you are feeling this way. Anyways we walked to reception at 12:10pm so we could proceed with little ones jabs, when they told us they would in fact be at 1pm!! So they expected us to wait 50 minutes in between appts, I explained the appt had been changed several times and my husband needed to get back to work. I even told them I came in person to clarify the timings at which point they said they didn’t remember seeing me the day before and to show them the text message which clearly stated ‘12pm for 6 week check and babies imms’ they didn’t know what to say, but instead of admitting it was miscommunication on their part they told me they usually keep a 40min gap between the 2 appointments, BS!!! I was infuriated at this point, it’s unfair on a newborn too as we plan our day around him, he was grouchy/ tired and hungry. And totally unsettled. The nurse didn’t start till 1pm and we were forced to come back and we’re seen at 1:12pm…. TOTALLY rude reception staff told me I was more than welcome to leave a review.. I mean we’re moving surgeries now thank god, hopefully better luck at the next place.
Following a prompt telephone call back I was given a same day in person appointment with a newly appointed doctor. The consultation was thorough, unrushed and conducted in a professional, pleasant manner. Excellent service.
Worst surgery for picking up the phone. The phone will ring for HOURS and still no one picks up. It would be quicker to driver there in person. Why give a CONTACT number when there is no one on the other side to pick up. Appalling. If this was a private sector business it would long ago have gone under.
I have problems with my daughter, I really don't understand where they make this doctor's school, because they don't know anything. I see one of the doctors he looks on Google to see what prescription he need to give. 1* believe me is to much, all doctors need to leave from there and they must bring real qualifications doctors
Terrible GP service. I had asked for a repeat prescription and given in the letter from my midwife which was photocopied at the surgery and I thought everything had been submitted. When I started to run out of my medications and went to reorder; it was found the receptionist never submitted it and now I would have to wait up to 48 hours. I was told it was my responsibility to order it on time but the fault lies with the surgery for not arranging my repeat prescription. Also it took 58 calls to finally get through to the surgery last time and by the time I did, there weren’t any appointments available. The only reason I haven’t left is due to the midwife who works there.
