Since writing the below review, the surgery has installed a better phone system which works more efficiently and even gives the option for you to have a call back rather than waiting in the queue. I recently had to take my son and try the new system and it’s a huge improvement. We were able to get an appointment straight away and were seen on time. I believe the surgery has took note of patients feedback and have made necessary improvements.nnAWFUL! Reception staff are disgusting. Since covid is clear that they prefer it that no one goes in the doctors so that they have an easy life. The phone service doesn’t allow you to book an appointment most of the time and message advises you that you can consult a doctor online, so you spend 20 mins completing all the info only to receive a message that says you must call to book an appointment!!! What’s the point in that? The phone service tells you it can’t be answered then hangs up on you!nn… and why move to a bigger surgery shared with 3 surgery’s and you see the same 4 doctors names going around on the board. All those rooms but no doctors ever available. The service was much better at the old tiny surgery behind the chip shop and the receptionist who worked there had good customer service skills. The current ones have zero customer service skills, no empathy when they tell you they can’t book you in, they almost seem like they enjoy giving bad news and telling you that you need to call the surgery EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE IN THE SURGERY!!
Everytime I Have Gone To Wigston Central Surgery - I Have Found The Receptionist's Really Friendly And Helpful And Ask How Can We Help? All The Information They Need Is Your Name And Your DOB - I Never Found Any Problem - Only Problem Is When Booking A Doctors Appointment - There Is Time Waiting, But You Expect That - Hard Enough Job To Do Anyway And Dealing With Various Issue's
I understand the pressure the receptionists may be under however, I wait in a queue from 8am rushing to drop the kids to school and get myself to work like many others would be doing too in the morning. I have to get off my phone when in the office and try call back only to for the receptionist to tell me the Doctor I need to see isn't available, he's fully booked, and that I should have rang at 8am!nNext appointment in November! Radicalise waiting times to be seen.nnThis has always been a problem at this Surgery, Something really needs to change.
Having received a text inviting me to receive a covid / flu winter booster jab , i rang the surgery to make appointment as instructed only to be told by the receptionist that neither jab was currently available , then said she had no idea when they would be getting any vaccine .and i should ring up once a week to see if any had arrived, i do find this a little baffling as why bother to to contact me in the first place to make appointment?. So all i can do is ring up once a week in the hope of getting vaccinated.
Poor service! Received a message to book an appointment for an examination with the doctor, you CANNOT get through on the phone at 8am due to only 25 allocations on the waiting list. I went down to book an appointment to save the phone call but had to deal with a very rude receptionist who was very unhelpful and couldn’t book me an appointment until 6 weeks but with a waiting room with only three people waiting. Total joke of a doctors and with receptionists who think they are doctors.
