Came here after a wet muddy walk across the Long Mynd. We were very cold and hungry and this was a nice little pub to refresh in. They are doing a large refurbishment at the moment so limited food is available. But certainly wasn't disappointed. Absolutely delicious and lovely atmosphere and staff. Enjoyed the non-alcoholic IPA. And having the fire on was cozy.
Great pub, nice lunch menu and great selection of beers. Small step 1.5inch to get in, just about doable in a wheelchair. Similar step up to the toilets. No dedicated disabled facility we could see. The food was very nice, served quickly and without fuss. Fantastic place in the summer too with its positioning next to the Brook.
Stopped here for a pint and food on the way while riding some nearby greenlanes. Lovely atmosphere here. Nice stream flowing just beside and a relaxed outdoor seating. Staff are super helpful and the service is super quick. Fresh ales and cider on the tap and they accept cash and cards. We had the Shropshire cider and fries and both were tasty. Plenty of parking available up the road as well. Great to come with friends and family. Cyclists and motorcycle riders seem to like this place too. I'd highly recommend the visit. I am hoping i get to stay at their inn soon
This place is just brilliant the staff who work here are amazing especially Tristan it’s dog friendly the service is amazing and every one is so kind here. There is a lovely stream out the front over the road, and it continues on when you go through the back door. The food, drinks and snacks are so delicious here. I come here all the time and I personally really recommend this place to anybody in Shropshire head down here and have a great time
Great beer, friendly welcome and the best pork pies I have ever had. Nice to sit out by the babbling brook. And if these guys are doing a barbecue, it will not disappoint.
Lovely traditional country inn set in the rolling hills of Shropshire. Good, tasty informal food and a great selection of well kept cask ales. Dogs are welcomed inside.Service: 4/5
Beautiful country pub in the Shropshire hills. Met a very friendly dog inside whilst I enjoyed my coffee after a days hike. Very friendly staff and people. Reasonably priced food and drink from what I could see. Nice sized free car park for those who don't mind starting their walks to Stiperstones nature reserve from the bottom of the hills. Please be respectful to the countryside and the residents when using the car park as I did see some rubbish toilet paper and human feces left by other users, which saddens me deeply.
Old hostelry fitting into its beautiful location. Good range of beers and wines and friendly service. We had cheese and ham baps, well filled and tasty.Service: 5/5
Not really a place you can walk to anymore, and expect anything other than a beer - unless you’ve booked a table. I walked in today from church Stretton, hoping to grab a sandwich. There were two tables free, unreserved, but when I looked at the menu I was told the kitchen was closed unless you’ve already booked, as there was a large group expected - I only wanted a sandwich! The large group didn’t turn up until I was heading off after my beer. I’ve visited twice since the new management took over. First time with kids, and no food available for kids on the menu - although they did rattle up a cheese sandwich. Basically, I would t class this as a ‘family’ or drop in pub anymore, sadly. It’s now become more of a trendy country pub catering for people wanting to spend big on adult focussed food. Sadly, not the country pub it used to be, but that’s life.
Wasn't so busy when for our lunch end-March. Only had soup and sandwich, but was very good. Expect it gets busy in summer - lots of outside tables. Dog friendly inside.
