When a place is this busy on a Tuesday lunchtime, then you know they must be doing something right. Great service from friendly and patient staff. There was an extensive menu to choose from offering lots of options to suit almost any appetite. Service was very prompt and rewarded with clean plates all round. We can particularly recommend the Greek salad, the Scampi, the braised beef sandwich and the chicken tikka masala curry. The lemon tart was delicious, the vegan chocolate and coconut tart a revelation and the ice-cream sundae spectacular!
Lovely Christmas meal with work colleagues from a previous job of mine. Attentive staff, great food that was reasonably priced. Party poppers, crackers, and festive coloured paper napkins at every seat. Great atmosphere as the pub was very busy and very full. Food was promptly delivered to our table. Staff were helpful and really made the evening go well. Will definitely be back. Thank you

I called ahead to reserve a table for a party of 5, and probably just as well - their car park drive in the front, exit out the back was pretty busy, which was a good sign there are on-street spaces around the residential area behind the pub if the park is full Upon entry, we were shown to our table, which was already flourished with condiments and menus - which had a good range of meals and drinks to choose from. It's a nice open-plan environment with high ceilings and spaced tables; some TVs were on with various shows but muted so it wasn't intrusive, and the whole place didn't seem noisy. I opted for the pie, which was a hearty round individual steak & ale, containing a good rich inner which was just as well as I found the accompanying pot of gravy a bit thin and served with peas sweet and chips crisp and dry, how I like them. There is an option of mash, but I like to dip chips into the pie. My colleague had fish n chips, a good-sized portion with dry tight batter, a pot of mushy peas and a separate tartare sauce. Others had veggie lasagne despite them not being vegetarian served with garlic bread and a good side salad, which they enjoyed immensely. Also chosen was ham, eggs and chips - a few thick slices of cold ham, two fried eggs and plenty of chips made for quite a large plate. I also enjoyed the beer: they had a fair range on, and despite it being quite busy good 75% occupancy the waitresses kept popping over to ensure our drinks were replenished. Although I only saw two or three waitresses in attendance, they seem to get around all tables pretty well and keep service levels high for all those dining there.
Amazing people and great staff. Look at this. We asked for two pints. One with no head and one with a big head. Without batting an eyelid this is what we got. Perfect.
Been for a meal to celebrate our Daughter’s Birthday. There was 6 adults and a child. The food was lovely, best steak I’ve had in years and the service was great. Highly recommend.
Good atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon with people watching the World Cup. Plenty of attentive staff clearing tables and giving them a good clean. We had a few drinks then the Hunters Chicken. A decent amount of food piping hot and tasty. Overall a good experience, will return.
Sunday Lunch was absolutely delicious only down fall was the large was the same size as a small bar an extra piece of meat, could really do with some extra veg also as there was 9 of us and only had 2 small bowls of veg to share, would 100% recommend but would love to see a bigger dinner for next time :
Website up to date with menu, and online booking straightforward. Shown straight to a table when we arrived, food and service was great, staff friendly and helpful. Our first visit, so very pleased.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent quality . A family meal for 28 yes 28 all meals served fresh and within minutes. Well done Beacon Hotel. Highly recommended.
