I've visited the bridge hotel several times and would rate the food and service as good. They have a small dance floor and bar. My last visit was for a Christmas party. Sadly, during this a temporary manager and relief staff I talked with informed me that the hotel is under recevership.

Please be advised that they have a car parking system that can lead to a very heafty fine for any infringement check with reception on arrival

*AVOID Like the plague - appalling place*

I visited The Bridge Hotel, Prestbury with a friend on 3/11/17 for afternoon tea and was stung with Parking fine from their car park and they will not help in anyway to sort out with the parking company even though they're in agreement it's wrong. 

I received a parking charge from Smart Parking for £60 with 14 days to pay or then it would be £100.  Unbeknown to me 2 weeks before my visit The Bridge Hotel had had cameras installed in their carpark. They had gone into administration and the company had installed parking cameras. 

When I entered the hotel I was not advised of this new system and was not asked for my vehicle registration.  Something being so new should have been a priority as like most have been visiting The Bridge Hotel for 40+ years.  The friend I was with got married there so we had no idea that they had decided to make this change.  

I contacted them immediately with my distaste and was advised to appeal the charge directly, I begrudgingly did this and although could back up my claim I was actually in the hotel with receipts, Smart Parking refused my appeal.  At this point I could have taken this up with Poplar the Ombudsman for such charges but because I rang The Bridge Hotel and they informed me they were dealing with this and had I quote "told the parking company to remove all their equipment" as they were themselves so annoyed with what was happening and that they were dealing with all the claims and for me not to worry or bother with it again.  "IT WOULD BE SORTED".
I have missed the windows for appealing with them.

I opened my mail today and I have a Debt Recovery Plus letter for £160 to my utter horror and am beyond upset.  I cannot now take this up with the Ombudsman as missed that opportunity, which is completely the fault of The Bridge Hotel as they told me they had it in hand. 
I rang them straight away to be told they could and would be doing nothing regarding all the many complaints and fines they have been told about.  The administration company has told them to say this.

For a failing business they sure know how to keep that happening.  I am contacting the local press tomorrow as this treatment is beyond unfair and do not want anyone else to suffer.
Through social media am in contact with many others in the same boat and we are all equally upset by our treatment and the cost we are left with after being told faithfully we had nothing to worry about. Dishonesty at its worst

Beautiful surroundings, helpful and extremely accommodating staff. Lovely meal  and rooms very comfortable.

Nice country side hotel close to Macclesfield. It is a little old and torn butik it is ok for a nights sleep. Close to a pub where you cancer get fish and chips for finner and close to a food store to get some snacks to ett in the hotel rom.
