Came here today, lovely all ate afternoon/evening stop with drinks but found some customers to be quite rude telling me to wipe my daughters nose despite he was begging for change, this place is lovely. Husband said staff who served him had a face on them. Toilets are clean/baby changing facility is clean. Nice location by the canal. Drinks weren’t badly priced though and did drinks for my daughters 3 & 8 never tried the food maybe next time.
Called in for an evening drink and then returned the next morning for an English breakfast. On both occasions service was excellent. They have a reasonable range of drinks. On Sunday morning we were looking for breakfast and decided to eat here. The full English breakfast without eggs was my choice and my wife had scrambled egg on toast. Both meals were quickly prepared and served. They were hot and tasty and good value for money for a city centre pub. The only mistake I made was not to spot black pudding on the menu which I would have avoided if I had realised. Tea was plentiful and the young lady that served us was happy to top up the pot when requested. Both meals were nice and the experience was only spoiled by watching England cricket team collapse to another T20 defeat by a far superior Bangladesh team but that is not the pubs fault. Well worth a visit anytime. Do not be put off by the unfortunate sign letter omission on the canal side of the pub which I’m sure they will fix in the future.
Stopped by for a late dinner+drinks, staff were very friendly and kind enough to accommodate us without advance booking. Although they didn't have any cocktails at the time, we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We ordered the pie of the day, roasted duck and buttermilk fried pork belly.
Great service from Kade and the service team! Exemplary food! And great atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit
Had a brief visit to the Brasshouse for lunch and pint. Food was good quality and quick service. Beer selection was good and the pint I had, Mercia from the Derby Brewing Company was an excellent accompiament to my scampi and chips. All in all a nice way to spend a rainy lunchtime in Birmingham next to the canal.
We decided to visit the German market in Birmingham, and have a look around other places etc: we came across this pub as we could hear music, we are a very musical family so was intrigued to go inside to see what it was all about! The pub was very busy so we couldn’t get close enough to see the band but they sounded great we couldn’t get to the bar unfortunately, so we just stayed a while and decided we will go back again to eat in there and hopefully they will have music on
Came for lunch and service was good but food quality not so good. I enjoyed my burger but my partner had the pizza and was disappointed at the cheap tomato puree and cheddar cheese topping. Please state on the menu that it's cheddar and not margarita. I wish we'd said something but neither of us like to complain.
Great New Years Eve, spontaneous night out and didn't pre-book but managed to get in. Slowly picked up closer to midnight and a great atmosphere. Free glass of bubbly for each of our group was nice. Also a nice touch that the bartenders were able to join in the New Year Celebrations with customers and each other. We had a dance with a few of the bartenders just after midnight, lovely bunch! Only criticism would be the toilet attendant, slightly tacky and pressuring people to buy sprays and lollies.
We came for food on a Sunday, my burger was fine however my partner’s fish was clearly re heated about twice - it was inedible. We asked for a fresh fish or to order another dish as the fish was awful and we were told as the fish had already been eaten two bites to try it- inedible we would have to pay for a new main. The waitress was unapologetic and rude, and did not empathise at all
Very disappointed, the Sunday roast tasted really weird, it was like the oil in the roast potatoes was bad. The meats were tough and flavourless - 1 star. Good news is the staff are great and the pub has a nice vibe - 5 stars.
