Figure of Eight in Broad St. As you'd expect for a wetherspoons. Large amount of seating and a rear garden/smoking area. Ground floor toilets too.
Visited with a group on the 30th August for a family meal. The food was excellent ordered fish and chips and the batter coating was light and crispy and the waitress was very kind and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend!
The staff definitely weren't on the ball with the corvid rules as they allowed a large party 12 to15 of late teens/early 20's to do as they liked. Swop tables, walk round the pub without masks on and generally flout the rules the rest of us were obeying. We did report this to.the duty manager but he seemed unconcerned.
The staff accommodated us on a table without cleaning it or disinfecting it. They even brought our drinks without noticing the complete mess on the table. Had to ask them to remove the trash from the table and they even needed a second ask to clean the table.
This place is a disgrace! Hardly anyone wearing face masks. No staff saying anything to them! Student tramps not all obviously, no masks using toilets not washing their hands. They should be ashamed animals behave better!! Apart from lack off respect for covid 19 it's a great place staff especially. Can't hold them responsible
Nice relaxed place to go with friends and family with very good food menu and many drink to choose from also friendly bar staff who are very helpful
Not great decor. Very busy and hard to talk over all the noise. The only good thing was the service at your table - although you have to order at the bar.
