Story

Just 38 miles from Edinburgh. This former hotel takes its name from the local river: Blackadder Water.

Recently refurbished and given new life as a restaurant and bar. The Blackadder Restaurant and Bar welcomes you to enjoy delicious local produce in a stylish new venue.

Here at the Theatre of Food and Drink, we want our fine food to take centre stage. Supported by a cast of carefully-selected wines, quality beers and a wide selection of spirits, presented to you in chic. Comfortable surroundings.

My wife and I were in for lunch. The Reasturant bright and welcoming. The service was first class with staff that seemed to enjoy working there. The food was excellent at a very reasonable price. Neither my wife or I could find anything to complain about. We will certainly be back in the very near future.
This pub was quite nice. The Bellhaven best was in good condition and the meals were great. The young lady who looked after us did a good job. The Pizza could have had moore toppings other than just pepperoni. Perhaps a few Peppers etc. Otherwise all ok.
Limited menu bore little or no resemblance to sample menu on website. A burger section, pizza section and little else. Only two specials, one of which became unavailable at 7.30. Fish and chips also went off menu early. It was Saturday night and we had booked. Although drinks order taken promptly, when we asked waitress to give us five minutes to look at menu, we were then left until we went and asked to make our order. All this said the food was tasty and well cooked. Will not be returning.
Down at the caravan park for the weekend and visited the blackadder pub for dinner on the Sunday. Food was lovely cooked nice. Staff are friendly. They are a bit rushed off their feet as only 2 staff and bar was busy. Don't normally leave reviews but felt the need for this one.
Went in for a quiet pint on Friday night and dinner on the Saturday night, very friendly staff, lovely fresh decor, food lovely
Foods great , lovely atmosphere, and all the staff are lovely
Enjoyed our lunch here today.The scampi chips &salad were delicious &beautifully presented. Keira ,our little chihuahua , sat beside us and was very well behaved in this dog friendly Bar. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting this lovely area.
We booked for 2pm so menu wasn't that extensive probably should have went for dinner... Only thing I fancied on menu wasn't available and substitute curry wasn't to my liking unfortunately... Cheese board was exactly that but a few crackers would have been nice.. Relaxed friendly staff. Next time fish chips for me.
Great food and a lovely atmosphere.
Had lovely meal!!
