Just had a very good dinner here. Piping hot food, excellent portions, excellent service from staff with smiley faces. I would certainly recommend this restaurant based on this visit.
We popped in on the off-chance of getting a table for two, no problem.nnThe service, atmosphere and food was excellent. Very courteous staff, the food was very tasty and well prepared and presented.nnHighly recommended.
Stayed at The Queens Head many times on fishing trips to the Tweed over the years bar atmosphere great as are the staff just arrived home after a 2 night stay. Rooms and corridors getting tired stayed in Room 4, one bathroom light out, light switch missing the toggle just a rope, air extractor not working, toilet seat missing the fittings underneath, no tray for shower gel in the shower 'bracket still there' hard to toggle the shampoo and wash yourself and put down the bottle at the same time LOL.nnPicked the wrong menu choice chicken for starters overcooked no moisture and tasted of not much main course a bad choice over cooked turkey escalope . Its the little finishing touches no condiments on the table , cutlery and sachets of sauces more a transport café feel and please real marmalade in the mornings.nnHappy to pay a little more this really could be the place to stay in Kelso certainly across the road isn't preforming or invest to make it so.
Went here for lunch on Friday as we were in Kelso for the weekend. Fish and chips were lovely and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne, decent portions as well. Staff were nice and the service good.
