Had an excellent dinner with my two teenagers one of them vegetarian on a Friday night. The soup, salmon & risotto , fish and chips and vegetarian curry were all excellent. Service was also excellent and we didn't have to wait much for our food. We stayed the night they rent a few nice rooms on the upper floor and had a superb vegetarian full English breakfast the next day before setting off to hike the Seven Sisters. Conveniently located next to the Berwick train station and with shuttle buses or within walking distance to the South Downs so very convenient for a short weekend out of London, even if you are not driving. Highly recommended!
Really nice garden and atmosphere with some good music playing on the patio. We had 2 starters and they were lovely - presentation and flavours much more than expected from a pub and really interesting- prawns and mango with vanilla dressing came with a delightful biscuit crumb. Very tasty!
Easy to get to, lots of parking, although not too sure about disabled access did note some ramps but mostly steps...owners/other reviews may clarify. Didn't wait long for the reserved table, despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon. Very attentive staff, high chairs available if needed. Had some of the local Long Man brews on tap so for 2022, they are serving genuinely the best bitter and lager in the world so I was a happy bunny with that. Had the roast pork for main and sticky toffee pudding. Felt sated but not surprised or excited by the food, roast potatoes can be contentious, so for fans of crispy outside, you will be disappointed. The wife wasn't blown away by the veggie Wellington tray bake springs to mind but it was fine. Genuinely nice atmosphere, good covered seating in the garden area. Very intrigued by the bell tents beyond the parking area...I guess for wedding /party stop overs? So, all in can recommend for a group function.
Just had lunch here with a friend. Lovely atmosphere, food was a delight and delicious, well presented. Staff are friendly, welcoming and on the ball, your enjoyment is important to them. Thank you, will go again and recommend to all.
It's a local boozer right by the station. Normally visit with a mate for a couple of beers for a catch up. Good choice of beers and the ubiquitous range of gin that seems so popular everywhere nowadays. The staff are great and really friendly, am told the roast is also good but not tried it yet, definitely on the list to do so. Decent sized rear garden with umbrellas or a covered area, tables well spaced out. There is also an enclosed dome which you can book to eat within in the garden, but without having to worry about the weather, looks like it might be a fun thing to do, particularly if there's 4 of you, something different. Have tried various things on the menu and it's always been good. Never seems to be overly busy but is clearly popular too. Am sure you won't be disappointed.
An excellent couple of nights' stay in the very comfortable bell-tents, with the Inn itself for dinner and breakfast. The cuisine is really great definitely recommend the king prawn curry! and the staff uniformly superb - warm, friendly, hospitable and helpful. The Inn is right by the station with trains regularly into Brighton amongst other routes. Well worth a visit.
Having never eaten here before we just didn't know what to expect but Google told us good things. The service was first class and the Sunday Roast was up there with the best pub roast I've ever had. I couldn't recommend highly enough. We'll be back.
Eaten here a few times, always a good meal. The food here is really tasty, reasonably priced and always comes out in good time. I can't fault the service either, always so friendly and attentive. And they have asahi on tap! Perfect.
We love the Berwick! We have enjoyed lunches, dinners. Gin festivals & most recently a Christmas party night & they’ve all been excellent. Zoey in particular stands out, always a fun & attentive member of staff. Food has always been lovely & Gluten free friendly.
This is a nice looking pub, with a lovely beer garden, but really overpriced. My friend had just picked me up at the airport so we stopped here for a pint and a snack on the way - I got the Welsh rarebit- basically a SMALL piece of brown bread with a millimeter of melted cheese on top, for 6 quid!! Complete rip off, but sadly that's a common occurrence in the UK these days.
