This b&b is run by a very friendly and welcoming couple. It's a near perfect location for the Lewes bonfire parades and I highly recommend the breakfast. Great choice and good quality - very tasty. The only negatives we had were that the room is very small so wouldn't want to stay more than 1 night, it has no mirror in the bedroom so difficult to use a hairdryer while seeing what you're doing and the shower head is tiny so the showers are a bit meh.
Very friendly staff and a beautiful space with lots to see around. We had a lovely time and the breakfast was wonderful. We would certainly come again and recommend to others. Many thanks for the brilliant service. Shane

My wife and I stayed here and fell in love with this B&B. David and Val were both wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. We stayed in The Loft apartment which was clean, warm and private and had everything we needed, including a well furnished kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom. We enjoyed our proximity to the South Downs, and this would be perfect for a walkers retreat, or indeed anyone wanting to escape and enjoy this beautiful, peaceful and serene corner of Sussex. Great place to stay for south downs walkers! In Jan 2022 we stayed in the Beacon View with a lounge, kitchen, bedroom and large bathroom. Super efficient check in, really great cooking facilities and a comfy sofa to spend the eve. Lots of books and a few board games and DVDs in the lounge. The bathroom was really nice. Great water pressure, and a bath. Perfect after a long day on the hills. Bed was comfy, and waking up to the view over the hills and the horses wandering around in the field just in front of us was really nice. Hosts are so friendly and accommodating. When I had a clothing malfunction in the morning, Val gifted us a sewing kit. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful place to stay. Really clean and great hosts. Whether you need just a room for the night or a place with a kitchen for the week they have both. Would definitely stay here again. Also child friendly.

Very good food and dog friendly bonus!. We turned up on a random Wednesday after a five mile walk and they were super hospitable. Could not ask for more from a remote country pub. Beer was... an unusual range if you like real ale, but not bad and well kept.
Really good meal and excellent service from an enthusiastic team. This lovely country pub has been superbly refurbished without spoiling it's unique atmosphere. There's accommodation too that looks very inviting for those seeking good value with charm and comfort. Great car park too.
