What a great community pub. Barman was super friendly. Good range of beers. Glad we found this place just round the corner where we were staying at The Pier Bed & Breakfast.Service: 5/5
Unspoilt backstreet pub, far removed from your sports bars and chains, this has character, a piano, local farm eggs for sale, two bars cosy and friendly and many decent ales...HSB, 49er, London Pride all served well. Today Pride from the cask and decent. Recommended pub.Service: 5/5
The Barley Mow provides QUALITY live music, FOR FREE, on a regular basis. For example, Ricky Eastman Quartet plays jazz mainly hard bop and fusion - Lee Morgan, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, John Coltrane etc every last Sunday of the month. All in a very friendly environment and reasonably priced drinks. NOT TO BE MISSED.Service: 5/5
Live music & beer, what's not to like? Walked past here with a friend and was drawn in by the jazz band playing. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Not the cheapest beer in town, but £5.10 for a madri is not insane at today's prices.
We go to see The Grove Breakers band, the beer selection is good and the band are too. This is a quirky pub with a great atmosphere...... There's nothing not to like.Service: 5/5
What a pub should be... A place to drink good beer.Food: 1/5
Great boozer with a fantastic array of ales and stouts including George Gales HSB and Sharps Sea Fury, both excellent. Will be returning to Southsea soon and look forward to visiting the Barley Mow again.Atmosphere: 5/5
