About

A pub with a garden in Islington

Story

The Albion is a Georgian gem left over from a time when Islington was fields and farmland and where the regulars would take afternoon walks out of the city to visit us.

With its wisteria covered façade and log fires, The Albion provides the perfect location to entertain, relax and forget the stresses of modern life, combining a central Islington location, just off Upper Street, with a picturesque walled garden situated within the Barnsbury conservation area.

The Albion won The Observer Food Monthly award for “Best Sunday Lunch 2009” and is one of The Independent’s “Top 50 Sunday Lunch Venues” and The Guardian’s “Best Pubs in the UK”.

Been there for the first time with my very closed friend for a Sunday dinner. I am vegetarian so I've chosen the veggie artichokes Wellington... So delicious. Plus all the veggies in the side were super fresh and tasty. I would definitely come back and spread the word with my friends about this place.
THE pub for a winters night. Lovely yellow light and amazing fireplace. The beers are really nice as is the staff - we always have a laugh with them when we go there. I always recommend this to my friends. Book in advance - it's super popular!
Great beer garden with really pretty decor. The staff was attentive and really funny. Only had drinks so I can’t speak for the quality of the food, but would definitely return!
An institution - very popular - booking recommended. In summer - they have a large-ish outdoor space in the back for dining/drinking and a couple of tables at front for drinks only. Cosy indoor setting at winter. Food is good - bit pricier but due to area/popularity
Super nice service, v helpful team, felt safe because table service and they take your temperature as you enter. Drinks a bit pricey but what can you do in London... The outside area is gorgeous.
I was walking by there was a medical emergency and the manager Sacha came out to help us, brought a first aid kit, blanket and pillow for the man. He was incredibly helpful and careful! I would 100% recommend!
Great roasts and amazing little beer garden out the back. Maybe a little slow on the drinks side, but guess they have to spend longer cleaning tables with Corona virus kicking about. We had about 8 different dishes between us.... Would say though that the starters a bit overpriced.
Probably the best scotch egg I’ve had in London. Such a fabulous pub and great garden with Covid measures in place. Tom and the rest of the team makes everyone feel very welcome.
