Great contemporary artwork as part of the collection to view free of charge. There are also ticketed options to view. I recommend taking the lift to the 10th floor to enjoy a spectacular view of the city, especially St. Paul’s.nThere is a cafe there but with very little seating available.
I’d never regarded myself as the type to enjoy art museums but this just blew my mind. There’s so much to explore and see, and some of the meanings behind the art really resonated with me on a personal level. It’s a great way to spend a weekend: appreciating the different exhibits they have, looking at their cute shops, they even had a vintage photobooth! I spent ~4 hours there and definitely will have to be back sometime, absolutely wonderful!
Great building though definitely difficult to navigate. I came with school so I can't really complain about the artwork because modern and contemporary just isn't really my thing, I'm sure if it you're a fan you'll love it. I'd definitely get a map because there was a lot of paid exhibits you obviously can't visit otherwise
Wonderful art gallery in the middle of London! Lots of free exhibitions to see and venture into.nnI visited the Nigerian Modernism exhibition which was excellent and I can only recommend. However it will require a ticket in advance!nnBig shop and cool cafes and areas to sit and chill out, talk about the exhibitions and catch up!
Tate Modern is a very nice place to spend a few hours, especially if you enjoy contemporary art and don’t mind that some pieces require a bit of interpretation. The museum is well structured and, even when busy, rarely feels overwhelming. Entry is free, which makes it an easy addition to any London day. The café at the top is a highlight, offering a relaxed break with impressive views over the city.nnQuietly rated: worth stopping.
