So grateful to see the remarkable paintings all at one place. I love this gallery. It was the most enjoyable place for me visited during my stay. Can’t believe it’s running at free entrance. I definitely would like to revisit.nnRecommend to reserve the time slot ahead of your visit. I had to wait for an hour to enter during yearend holiday.
Definitely one of the best museums in London. Entry is free, which is exceptional. I suggest you book in advance though. The paintings of the museums are extremely interesting. There is a cafe, toilets and a water refill station. Bags will be checked at the entrance, but you are allowed to carry your bag inside the museum.
Admission was free so what else is there to say? This is a must-visit because it houses amazing painting collections, we couldn't help but compare this place with galleries in Paris that impose entrance fees to visitors. It was baby-stroller friendly and very easy to navigate. Security screeening was a breeze, it was very well coordinated. There was a queue but movement was very quick my wife, crying baby and i were inside in no time. There were seats provided in the rooms for you to gaze at the paintings.
With some of the most remarkable works of art being displayed against the backdrop of stunning galleries, the National Gallery is definitely one of the most remarkable museums in London. With a plethora of notable works on display, one could easily spend days admiring the art on offer. If you're on a time crunch like me, be sure to search up some recommended routes on the website to take note of where the most notable works are housed to make the most of your time. Also, booking your visit ahead of time is definitely recommended as that had saved me from a 20 minutes queue at the main entrance.
Amazing paintings from all around the world. This museum is suitable for art lovers, has a variety of paintings from different periods and techniques. If you are like me and don't want to skip a thing, it might take up to 2,5-3 hours to visit. Otherwise, you can focus on the rooms you prefer the most since the museum is open and free and you can enjoy a second round another time to fully enjoy the masterpieces inside. Absolutely suggested! Kids might be more fascinated by other interactive museums. The location in Trafalgar Square is magnificent and easy to reach via public transport. Despite an apparent long queue, I managed to access the building within 15-20 minutes which is reasonable on a Sunday!
