One of the best art gallery’s in the world. Amazing artwork, logically presented in a beautiful building. All that for free. Just walk on in and enjoy.nnI have never had a problem with crowds even in the holidays. Obviously some of the most popular pieces have small crowds but never a problem.nnHighly highly recommend.
It appeared to stretch for miles. The National Gallery is simply enormous. This is my fourth visit. The art pieces are magnificent, beautifully displayed, and arranged in roomy galleries. While some places are remarkably calm, others get very busy. From the exterior, the structure appears grand and spacious, but within, some of the rooms are exquisitely designed and embellished, almost like works of art. With all of the great artists on exhibit, the artwork is stunning. It's nice to see some well-known pieces in their original form. It is a genuine national asset, and admission is free. There are restrooms available.
Entry is for free and it's huge - split among multiple buildings even. Main entrance is at the Sainsbury Wing as shown in the picture. For leaving your bags in the cloak room it costs 2£ per item. They cover all famous epochs and most popular paintings and also many other ones. Inside it felt almost like a maze. But it was amazing. The souvenir shops are also nice. Can definitely recommend it to anyone visiting.
Amazing musuem experience! I Highly recommend it if you come to visit London! Very nicely located, it offers plenty of paintings. What is more, the museum is free! I loved it, it was the first attraction when I came here and it was a good start!
Came for the Pointillism exhibit that just started on September 13 and on till February 8 2026. If you love Seurat and Signac you will be heaven. Don’t miss out. Very special Seurat and Signac pieces from the Kroller Mueller collection from the Netherlands plus the permanent home of Seurat’s masterpiece Bathers. The star of the show is Seurats Chahut or Can Can piece…one of Seurats very last masterpiece before his untimely passing at just 31. The handsome gentleman in the top hat is none other than Seurats close friend Signac done in conte crayon by Seurat himself! Plus some really good pointillist pieces from underrated pointillist painters such as Theo Van Rysellberghe, Jan Troope, and George Lummens. Although the entire museum is free, the exhibit is $25 which is more than worth it. as well as arguably permanent collection home to the most beautiful Van Gogh Cypress piece and sunflower pieces. Not to mention one of Leonardo Da Vincis paintings from around 1492 there.
