A great place for a visit, lots of informative displays with many interactive areas for kids to use. Many of the display areas encourage interaction (plenty of dress up options for photos) which is a great touch. There are many uneven floors and stairs so it would be a struggle for those of limited mobility, only the great hall and cafe are wheelchair accessible but I would have expected this in a near 1000 year old castle. The staff are very friendly and happy to explain or help and made our experience fulfilling

I was overcharged for my room which had stained carpets, was dirty, really shabby and smelled of smoke. The heated sparked so I had to turn it off, towels were not clean. TV needed constant resetting. THEY made a mistake on my parking and I got a ticket which they will not take responsibility for. Manager was never around to address my issues, rude emails. Complete lack of customer service. AVOID at all costs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Good to explore. Lots of interactive things to do like dressing up in costumes and wigs. Information was interesting and educational. Parking was cheap and it's next to the town centre shops. A good day out
