Been to the toy museum quite a few times. My small children (2-5 yrs enjoy the colouring, playing and building activities); my big children (13-17) were pretty bored. Nice walk to the lake and spots for picnic. Decent wooden play area. The little boutique shopping village is pretty good. We keep going back so must be pretty good.

Fantastic place. The Hall and the museum of childhood are both fantastic. Make sure to visit the classroom in the museum and take a class! The children’s play area is really good and has seating for you to watch while they play. The picnic area is very good too and in summer they sometimes have a covered area and blankets. There’s also a really good shop, a nice cafe and great ice cream too. Finally the garden out the front of the hall is absolutely beautiful.

Sudbury Hall is another great National Trust attraction. Sudbury offers a children's museum where visitors get to see toys and games of yesteryear as well as more modern ones too. Sudbury also has a large cafe built into a lovely barn and it has a great little shop too. The main house is nice, not the best National Trust house I have seen with only a few rooms open to the public.

Loved It here, National trust properties are the best, great staff, great grounds, well sign posted all the facilities you need on a day trip for young and old. I particularly like the way you are free to wander around at your leisure without the need for multiple signs , barriers and queues if it’s busy simply have a walk round another bit and come back. I love the passion of the staff and the fact you can touch everything and generally have a mooch about.

Sudbury Hall has been on our list of places to visit for a while now. We finally went for mother's day and whilst it was probably busier than on an average Sunday it didn't feel too crowded. The overflow car park still had plenty of space. The Museum of Childhood was our first stop and the kids loved it as much as we did, although they must now think we are older than the dinosaurs having heard us say "I used to have one of those!" several dozen times. It's a great museum with plenty of hands on stuff. Should point out that it is spread over two floors but there is a lift. The food on offer is fairly standard national trust kitchen-on-site stuff and despite having to queue for a bit it was worth the wait. There also seemed to be plenty of seating for the number of people. The hall itself was really interesting, definitely aided by the enthusiasm of the room guides. One managed to get our 5 year olds to look at a staircase. I'll admit it was an interesting staircase (very ornate wood carvings), but to a 5 year old?! Hats off to the room guide. Apologies for the poor selection of photos. We were too busy looking at things!
