Booked last minute through email. No issues. £26 per night with EHU Had a good pitch facing the river. Watching the swans and people kayaking. Lots of friendly people Dog friendly Code for gate if you want to go out. They got rest rooms You can leave all your rubbish in the skips. Really enjoyed our one night, definitely going back. I would imagine it being really busy in the summer, as it was October it was quiet and lots of people packing up to leave site. I'm sure there would be a lot to do activity wise in the summer.
Perfect little spot! Great Campsite. 4 of us and a toddler stayed here for a weekend break. Everything as expected but the girls on reception were super lovely!! Better than expected for customer service for sure. We camped in the non electric area, it was clean and well kept. Everyone adhered to knocking it on the head by 11 latest and everyone at the site camping was friendly. There was plenty of space on the pitch and not too close together, the electric hook up are looked closer together than non electric but still comfortable. Toilets and Showers were clean, a little cosy but perfectly useable. only had to queue at a peak time but that wasn’t an issue just bad timing on my part. £1 for a shower was ok as the site is reasonably priced to allow for this, just remember your coins! Nearest shop 4 miles away. Selection of pubs in walking distance, one of them 1 minute from the campsite. Only advice to the site is to perhaps consider a site map on your leaflet as this would be helpful but not a huge necessity. I would 100% return.
This is a nice campsite that provides what it says on the tin, it kept clean and you need to respect other campers, as you should. It's location is brilliant too. There is plenty to do and we'll be back.
One of the worst places I have been into. Toilets are not clean. Super dirty!! You need to pay 1£ in order to get water for a shower and you find other people ‘s underwear on the floor . The arcade and the bingo playing all day are super annoying. Not a good place to come with kids either. It has lots of potential since the location is amazing but they should run this place in a different way.
What a dump! The electric hook up field was ok, the rest of the site looks like wasteland! It’s very run down with boarded up buildings. It also seems to ge a dumping ground for Danters old fairground rides. The club house and amusement arcade are like Butlins on a bad day. I gave it one star for its proximity to the river although don’t expect a camping pitch by the river, that space has been reserved for various run down and grotty kiosks selling burgers and ice creams etc. The was a woeful lack of toilets and the showers weren’t very clean. Despite having a long list of rules on the site absolutely none are adhered to, meaning large groups and loud music well into to the early hours, plus dogs that bark endlessly. The site could be a gold mine in that location but sadly the owners clearly couldn’t give a monkeys about their customers. They are just creaming off the money while spending nothing to improve your experience. They should be ashamed of themselves as they are ruining what could be a lovely riverside campsite. AVOID! .
Location amazing but will be staying somewhere else next time. the staff were absolutely lovely. Really friendly and helpful when needed. Two star campsite as it’s cheap, but with that brings two toilets in the mens and two in the ladies. Most the time one was out of order due to people not using them in a sanitary manner. Only used showers once, as there was diarrhoea all over the shower. Some noise issues with other campers who decide to have gatherings until 2am and children playing cricket until midnight. Location for the river was great for paddle boarding.
The main site looks nice, but the ‘camping’ bit is somewhat cramped. Not terrible, but much closer than most sites. We’ve spent an otherwise pleasant evening listening to next door’s radio playing some Harry Potter audiobook. I wouldn’t normally mind, but I’ve only got as far as goblet of fire.
awful attitude from staff! we were approached in an awful aggressive manner on our first morning from some staff member giving us our "first warning" regarding some "music" that according to another pitch we had ongoing all night only to find out they had complained about the tents next to us and not us! we wouldnt have mind if the staff came over and had a normal conversation but he didnt and came over all guns blazing furious and he didnt care that we had young kids with us we were threatened with the police removing us all before any of us could get a word in to make it very clear that we wernt the ones with any music on past 10.30 11pm is the cut off but they didn't want to hear it. it was disgusting behaviour! all to keep hold of the £20 noise deposit that we all each had to pay on top of what we payed for the site! won't be visiting again
AVOID! It started when we went to the reception to check in and the staff seemed very unwelcoming. I was also handed a leaflet full of campsite rules and what stood out to me most was how they didn’t accept travellers. I understand big groups with trailers that take up space but it seems like stereotyping and is discrimination. The leaflet also stated how no traffic was allowed between certain times, as well as music and open fires but I saw many people going against these rules and staff were no where to be seen. No, maybe I cannot blame the staff for a group of lads playing their music and chit chatting outside their tent until 6am but I wasn’t impressed. It was also a very outdated arcade and even the staff at the café were rude. It genuinely looks abandoned and the only thing I enjoyed was our walk along the River Wye. Oh yeah, it was very overbooked and there were only two female toilets which resulted in long queues and my bladder almost exploding. The sanitary bins were never emptied either.
I Booked for 3 nights by telephone. and when I pop up they did know anything about my booking. So they gave an “alternative “ spot without electricity and in a parking place. Charging as the slots they promote with nice pictures. They make the stand complica by restricting the water by coin machines. Bathrooms with code. Etc. not recomendable.
