Not worth the wait. The service was extremely slow - It took us 30 mins to get a seat, which makes sense on a weekend. However, after placing our order pretty much immediately, we did not get all our food and drink for another 45 mins. They did end up compensating one of our drinks, but it made for an unpleasant waiting experience where we had to check on our order a few times. Meanwhile, there was a constant huge line of people outside the cafe, and they took a long time to seat people.nnThe food itself was decent, but nothing special. We got the fried courgettes, eggs Benedict, and buttermilk pancakes. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.
This is my local brunch spot, a cozy cafe tucked away in the lovely neighbourhood of Barnsbury. The food is always amazing and the service is friendly. As it is that popular there is usually a queue on the weekend and it’s not possible to book in advance. So if you don’t mind waiting outside, this is a great spot. Only downside is that it can get quite noisy inside so not the best place for conversations.
Always worth the queue. The food is great and by far my favorite brunch in London. Solid standard menu always complemented with a few interesting specials.
What can I say, I have dined in at Sunday for close to 10 years now. My personal favourites are the courgette fritters and French toast. They never get old.nnRecently one of my dear friends was reeled in by nostalgia and reverie when he tasted the salted caramel dressing of the French toast. It brought back fond memories of a place he used to call home. How transcendent is that.nnThanks Sunday, you are special.
Lovely little cafe with a really tasty menu. Not our first visit but probably our last. It’s really unfortunate that the service was just so poor. We arrived at 10am and, despite ordering as soon as we could, weren’t served our meals until 10:50. Also the approach of having people wait outside in the cold when there were empty tables is, if you’ll excuse the pun, rather frosty. It was uncomfortable to watch. We generally felt like our patronage was an imposition which left a bad taste that even the lovely food couldn’t quite erase.
