I’ve been seeing Café Kitsuné all over social media and was excited to finally try their matcha after hearing so much about it. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype. The matcha tasted pretty standard—nothing special compared to other places, which was disappointing given the buzz surrounding it.nnThe café itself feels more like a takeaway spot, which makes sense considering how busy it gets. On the positive side, the service was quick, and I didn’t have to wait long for my drink. However, for a £7 matcha, I expected something of more premium quality. Overall, it’s not bad, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the hype.
Having renovations at the moment for the indoor cafe so it was just a small space to order and collect drinks from another side, not much tables due to the indoor cafe closing but lots of space at the garden sitting area. Matcha still as great and with few pastry options.
Definitely over priced for coffee and sandwiches but worth a visit.nnTheir pain au chocolate have the most amazing lamination but could somehow be more buttery. The matcha is reasonable and does not have the grassy aftertaste which many do. The egg sando was good but again, over priced.
In my recent visit to Café Kitsuné, I ordered the matcha latte and the pistachio danish. The matcha latte was nice, with the right amount of intensity. As for the pastry, the taste was good but the freshness was questionable.nI was disappointed that, for the £16 that I paid for a hot drink and a pastry, I got disposable wooden cutlery which broke halfway and a paper cup. I expected better service and a proper fork and knife metal please to match the prestige of the brand name and the price I was paying for it.
Got the iced Spanish latte and chocolate brown with a pecan. The drink and dessert went well together. However most of the food was finished so we had a limited choice as we came at 3pm. If it’s a weekend come early before 12 to try more food. It’s quite pricey as well. Exterior and interior of building is aesthetic and nice.
