Excellent statue but need lack of cleanliness and fountain was not working during my visit.
This is a magnificent statue of William Shakespeare in a contemplative pose atop a water fountain. The four corners of the fountain is a figure of a fish or perhaps a mini whale with water gushing out of the 2 holes on the heads of the fish. An unusual and interesting design choice.
Fun square. There is a shopping village set up around William for the holidays. Hard to get a photo of him if that was your goal for visiting. Really lovely atmosphere.
Really impressive statue unfortunately the fountain wasn't working when I was there which was a shame but was still nice to see.

Taking centre stage of the fountain within Leicester Square is this stone statue of William Shakespeare. Engravings on the statue talking about the enclosure being free for public enjoyment 'for ever' and has been since 1874.
A lovely statue celebrating William Shakespeare. This is one of the better statues of William Shakespeare that I've seen. Very fitting in that so many theatres are found near by.
Great little gem hidden in that area.
